Can't change resolution | 4k not avaiable

Hey guys!

Just bought Dirt Rally 2.0 and I wanted to see how this looks like in 4k but the option isn't there!

I have a 2080 TI and a 4k monitor. So far I have been playing everything in 4k (AC Unity, Witcher 3, Project Cars 2 and others) but Dirt Rally doesnt have that option for me.

When the game launches the screen flickers during the logos on the intro. Then I go to options and I can only go as far as 2k resolution with no further options avaiable.

Help would be apreciated.

strange, I've been able to run 11520x2160 no problem, on triple 4k screens. Have you gone through windowed, borderless and full screen options?

Yeah already changed lot of the settings to see if further resolution options would show up bt nothig. It's as if the game thinks my monitor doesn't have 4k resolution

and deffo set the 4k res in your Graphics card? is your desktop running at 4k res?

This is driving me nuts. I have
-Verified files
-Changed resolution on the hardware settings file
-Reinstalled game
-Used nvidia geforce experience to set 4k but once I enter the game it's not on 4k neither is there the option on the settings
-used the control panel to force 4k

And yet nothing....I have a friend who bought the game and doesn't have a a 4k monitor and even so the resolution is there for him to choose!

just a thought have you flicked through Full screen, windowed and borderless in the graphics options on the resolution page in game? What htz are you running? Is your monitor/tv also set to 60htz or higher? Don't use Nvidia experience, go to nvidia control panel and make sure it's 4k there, I'm assuming 1 screen only at 3840x2160?

right just tested this, I run my one of my 49" 4k tv's at only 30htz because I'm using vr so even tho I'm on a 1080ti it still takes some stress off the gpu having the monitor set to 120x108030htz.

So when I opened the game on desktop even with 3840x2160 the game will only max res to 1920x1080@60htz.

So shut game down turned off pc, with pc off go to tv menu and find the HDMI EDID 2.0 and make sure it is set, you also should have HDMI 2.0 capable cable. If not it may not work.

Start the pc with the tv menu showing HDMI EDID on 2.0 the pc will now boot up with the gpu in 60htz mode. I started the game and there is the full range of resolutions available all way up to 4096x2160

Yes I tried everything on the settings. My monitor only has 30hz at 4k and 60hz on the previous res

did you start your pc with monitor already set to EDID 2.0? without that you can not achieve 60htz 4k. If you are able to start the pc in 60htz 4k but not game at that res then could be your HDMI cable isn't high spec HDMI 2.0 capable.

I am not familiar with what is edid 2.0 and if my cable is hdmi 2.0.
But I'll look into it and what was said on the previous post.
However shouldn't that pose a problem for the rest of the games? I play everything else in 4k

My monitor has a displayport and two HDMI ports (HDMI 1 and HDMI 2).
If I plug the cable on HDMI 1 it locks it at 30hz refresh rate. If I plug it on the second port it locks it at 60hz.
Now I have the 4k resolution!
And everything else is amazing on my computer! I have been using this monitor on 30hz for like 2 yeard. Everything on the computer, every task, every game is so fluid now omfg XD

No i always at it on the first HDMI port. My native resolution was 4k at 30hz and I was able to play everything else like this. Except Dirt Rally 2.0. Probably it doesn't allow the resolution with a refresh rate so low as 30hz.
