What are the "Seasons"?
Just bought the game a few days ago and noticed in the DLC's on steam and on a couple screenshots on codemaster the different seasons. Are those what they are calling purchasing packages? or Updates? At first i thought it had to do with career mode but then i saw with each Season comes new content. And further noticed the Seasons had to be bought lol So i came to the conclusion "Season" is the new "DLC". Am i correct?

Thanks

Yes. Deluxe is seasons 1 & 2. With seasons 3 & 4 its super deluxe. CM are teasing something coming in spring 2020 so there may be unreleased DLC, to be released next year. All content in the DLC packs can be individually purchased, if you just want certain parts of the DLC.

yea...nice huh?..I bought this game last summer on the Steam Summer sale--the DELUXE edition...now I just checked...Season 3/4 DLC is almost the same price for the full Deluxe Edition I bought.Does something not seem right here?...like price gouging and blatant lying by the game maker. Who the heck wants to support a game maker that does that?...

Simply put, don' support them, that is only way you make them realise they are taking the piss.

If even a minority buy this, it sets a precedent that the few are prepared to buy, so the company will go with them, not the silent majority who refuse to do this.

It doesn't matter if you really like the game, it is the principle of the thing, nearly 100 quid for a game is ludicrous, whether you agree with it or not.

In short it is another way for Codehackers to rip us off some more!

One solid way to not get 'ripped off' is to not buy it.

CM don't rip people off they allow people to make their own decisions. If you feel ripped off then stop making wrong decisions and assuming things.

This modern idea that it's OK to not take responsibility for your own actions and to always find blame elsewhere makes me puke.

Yeah I'm not going to stop buying seasons. I don't consider it a ripoff and get my moneys worth for sure in the amount of time played/enjoyment. There are glaring problems for sure but their DLC model at this point isn't bad. You just have to be able to read a description and have enough reading comprehension to understand what you are paying for. I think that's where a lot of issues arise.

I hope they keep bringing seasons with more content because I'll keep buying them.
Axe Dec 20, 2019 @ 6:07am
I wasn't commenting on that though, was I... and I never said it fixed anything if I can read my own post correctly. It was one single point on personal responsibility.

Right now that's sorted and you have brought up a totally new viewpoint to discuss and here is my answer to that.

Well, the business model is whatever individuals believe it to be. I don't care what others think especially. I only care what I think - and that is not much as it's all a bit too yawny for me. I have no desire to even care about bloody business models etc etc etc. I have better things to do than discuss this same old same old rubbish time and time again.

Yeah But I don't have to bother with all this because I don'y buy into the crap CM are selling, because I know better. That is the difference.

This game is eternally on sale. Lol
Wonder why.

To all of you that have purchased it...Good Job !!!
You are now a proud member of corporate enabling !

I would like to give some of you a free pass because you bought it before the old switcheroo came down the pike but I bought it too...and quickly returned it because the game was terrible.
Even if you liked the basics of the game (which is fine, you are just more accepting than i) it had tons of issues.....and still has some.

But many kept it anyway. So yes you are still an enabler....a trend setter!
Once again, great job !

I am just trying to figure out their method of madness. Their new business model.
Is it eternally on sale because the sales weren't what they hoped for?
Was it after the fact?

Or

Did they have this all planned out from the beginning knowing the game was questionable?
After the joke that was Dirt 4. Did they become gun shy?

Either way

With this method they made an attempt to bilk as many that they could and when that dont work as they hoped, they have the fix by putting it on sale constantly but giving everything, everything you should have gotten from day one including it not being a broken POS of a game....the full package at a regular price. So they may still get paid.(After they screwed many). But you kind of deserved it for accepting a broken game in the first place.

And again.........great job enablers !!!
Now we can expect much more of this crap from them and many other developers because there are many more just like you.

A group of "gottahavits". At any cost.
With a life so shallow that you just cant resist. Not enough backbone to skip a "game" to put a stop to the BS that has overtaken gaming.

This kind of thing is rampant nowadays with all kinds of busineses.
They take a small hit in the beginning (because of us who have the jewels to deny them) but the rewards become massive after they make it "the norm".
Everybody just starts to accept it. Just slide it on in there.

I will never know the state of this game. No matter how low the price goes. It is a thing called conviction. Too many dont have it anymore. Without it you become a sheeple.
A narrow/weak minded, it's all about me, gottahavit, sheeple.
It simply is not that important to me although I really like this genre. I have put out a lot of money for my gaming/sim rig but I will not play their game. Pun intended.

Enjoy your future. It's only going to get.....brighter.

I'm pleased with my purchase. i wasn't milked or conned or was so weak I didn't know what I was doing. According to the dross above we were all duped... there's always one has to come out with this same old same old post.

Ive just been buying it on sale. As i said in the review i left of the game i have a moral limit of around $65 for any given game. So far Ive bought the game on sale for $17 and just bought Season 1 and 2 yesterday on sale for $15. I still have little over $30 to put into this game if i continue to enjoy it. But ya i see what you are all saying. It is absurd to sell a game at full price knowing all the stuff people bought the game for is all DLC's. To buy a Rally game and have to pay extra for rally Sweden, Germany, finland etc is absolutely disgraceful.

This is all study grouped and think thanked as to why these companys do this. It has all been researched and they've come to the conclusion we are all suckers. And for a while i think they were right but the tides are turning i think. In less than a year I bought the game and DLC for $32 as opposed to the MSRP $90 they wanted for the two. Where had they just sold it all for $60 i would have bought out right. I might never buy another DLC who knows. But i do know they would be out of that extra $30 they would have gotten.

I'm confused, why are there so many people that have angry opinions, about games they returned after 30 minutes play time, or have never owned or played the game. Do some people really have so little content in their life, they feel the need to come on these forums to stir up negative opinions? I have some advice for people like for this. Get a life and find a way to enjoy it :steamhappy: Posting negative comments about games you don't actually own, will never bring you any happiness.
Axe Dec 20, 2019 @ 1:14pm
... oh I never thought of that Matt. Great idea. Happiness, 'ang on I'll have to google that one...

Oh yes I did understand mate. no problem. I actually was about 5 minutes ago just thinking and hoping that my reply wasn't sounding sarcastic toward you :-) It was supposed to suggest gaming & forums and this strange word 'happiness' were rarely used together. But It never came across correctly LOL :steamhappy:
