for you again, from NVIDIA :
Application Issues
Fixed Frame Rate Games
Some games and applications are designed to run at a fixed frame rate, and consequently do not
take advantage of NVIDIA G-Sync. To prevent issues, G-Sync may be disabled for those
applications
----> when you have a 120hz monitor and you have 115 fps for the framerate, do you know what is the difference with GSYNC or WITHOUT ?
WRC8 is not smooth at 115FPS with a 120HZ monitor with GSYNC....
DR2.0 is PERFECTLY smooth at 115fps with a 120hz monitor with GSYNC.....
WRC8 doesn't support variable refresh rate....cause it's designed to be played at a fixed refresh rate....cause it's not a very good 3D engine......the GSYNC feature is not supported
it's not the NVIDIA fault, but it's clearly the WRC8 fault...
All you say prove :
-you don't know what is gsync
-you don't have a Gsync monitor
But I noticed some stuttering.
After 2 hours playing , I can say that the graphics are vey nice. The testing area , the training areas are available to tune your car directly while driving which is a most desired feature I was dreaming about for DR 1.0 and 2.0.
The career mode starts with objectives to complete, giving more fun and strategy . You have to manage also salaries of your staff, an agent to increase the occurrences of events, an Engineer to get more XP, a wheather expert , a Kinesitherapeut (physio) to maintain the good shape of your team, I have not yet figured out the impact of the good mind set of your team on the performances.
A 4 branches skill tree upgrade of cars and team brings a progressive touch in the game. HOwever, I noticed that the tarmac tyres for the rain conditions are only available late in the tree selection which is kinda non sense. You get cars but not the proper tyres to drive with ????
The SS tracks (race against one other car on short circuits) is still a nice feature of WRC. DR 2.0 compensates with the RX availability.
In terms of driving :
Better than WRC7 but still far from DR 2.0 physics, and a stange FFB ....I have to work on it.. At least there is a bit of feeling the weight of the car. But the reactions of the cars can be unexpected (loose control for no obvious reason).
Only 3 categories of cars, R2, R5 and WRC,(Basic version at 49 euros) and 2 historic cars in the extended edition (Edition 59 euros) . I do not understand why you have many proposed teams with the same car. ..it is non sense.
I need to spend more time to get a decent evaluation compared to DR 2.0.
Ennoying things: already cheaters on the leaderboard have set some impossible chronos ...I don't understand how they did not get rid off this plague which disrupted WRC7.
These are the things that matter to me.
Anyone else have points to add in terms of WRC8 physics and leaderboards cheating/fair status?
edit: btw . . . what "kind" of impossible times you mean?
LOL. 37s . . . I would accept if it is like 5s, 10s form second position, "maybe" (and just maybe) a real professional got it and made a super time . . . 37s from second position would already be insane and totally worth calling it a hack (even considering "maybe" it was possible) . . . but 37s total, yes, you are right, less if he got a warpdrive on his car to not only cut corners but cut almost the whole track.
Probably sponsored by Starfleet Academy.
This is why I won't be buying WRC 8 until they have VR implementation. I really WANT to play it, but after rallying in VR, playing in pancake mode is sickening by comparison.
Take this as a warning. Once you try racing in VR, you won't be able to go back to 2D ever again.
I did also, sickening!
I'm a big supporter of what VR does in racing games, it's been developed for it, it's great!
But there are also games where it is without good, here shows the quality of these. For example, Kartkraft is in normal as well as without VR, AC and ACC are also in VR and normal ingenious, even Dirt Rally is well playable without VR. WRC 8 is only normally playable, but very good and if you have set the FFB and looks over a few idiosyncratic vehicle activities away, it is quite good.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ... we have a 4k 100+Hz nativ screen here with 55".
And we got a linked Oculus Quest and a Rift S to play with too.
VR is not comparable to a big screen or triple screen setup at all.
You never used a VR device with ANY racing game. If you would, you would stop talking such crap on EVERY racing game discussion board on steam.
You are the one that really deserves a steam wide discussion board ban.
Never saw ANY person except you on EVERY board talking the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ all time.
What a shame.
