What is the joker delta?
I have been playing custom championships with friends for a while and not one of us know what the joker delta is/means. In some Rallycross races we play together it will say Joker Delta : 2.798 seconds. What is that? Just curious.

Delta in racing is the difference between your pace & a certain time, I assume the delta for the joker is the difference between the fastest lap & the lap that includes the joker.

Joker is a longer lap, you need to do a joker lap once per race in rallycross. I assume joker delta means how much time the joker lap will lose you presumably, or something like that.

I agree that that would make sense, except it shows the Joker Delta time before the race has even started.

That actually would make the most sense, but sometimes in a Rallycross race, the Joker Delta is 0s.

that probably means you havent done the joker yet so it has nothing to compare to

It takes a couple of rounds to calculate it. Then you can use it to see in which round to take the joker, as in if your delta is 2.5s and you're 3s away from second place you can savely take the joker lap and maintain your position
