Adjusting for Wet/Rain Gravel
What setup changes should i make at the next service station to compensate for wet/very wet gravel?

rain or, if not available, medium tyres
No diff adjustments?
Setups are still a personal thing that depends on your driving style. There isn't a setup to just go faster in the wet.
Also i'd stick with soft tyres. They have longer life on wet surfaces.
yeah, I give myself more braking force and soft tyres if wets are not available
Increasing negative camber
Adjustment of brake lock diff

These will help in the wet for cornering but bear in mind any setup changes you make will usually be in place for two or three stages; if the next stages are dry you might suffer because of the changes.

I usually only make changes for long wet stages...
Yeah I was just fishing for ideas, i usually just keep my dry setup if its a dry/wet mix since the ai is usually much better in the wet I just go at a good pace and keep damage to a minimum. Was just getting an idea of where to start when i want to adjust for the longer ones or when i get lucky and 8 of 10 stages are wet.
Assuming you have an appropriote car setup for dry conditions; from dry conditions to wet conditions you need to;
For more on the issue refer THIS SETUP GUIDE

First you need to keep in mind that you will suffer for less grip and stability than in dry conditions. To support this;
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* MORE POSITIVE CAMBER ANGLE - Camber angle will determine wheel contact to ground so we need to increase contact point to support our stability. But it is alone and unaided could make worse everything.

* MORE REAR TOE IN - But just one or two notch. Toe in at the rear will help slightly to resist spinning or sliding.

* LESS BRAKE FORCE - The last thing we want in slippery conditions is locking the wheels which turns the car into nothing than a ton of steel.

* MORE OPEN DIFFERENTIALS - We favor more for griped wheels to pull the car into the road.

* SOFTER SLOW/FAST BUMPS - At first it seems that we are allowing weight transfer more easily by this setting (hence decreased stability) it keeps us on the ground and forgives for a rugged road which is deadly in wet conditions.

* SOFTER SPRING RATE - Not only supports the softer bump settings but also allows better contact with the track surface on bumpy tracks and increasie mechanical grip.

* MORE RIDE HEIGHT - This support for softer spring rates and bump settings. It also prevents bottoming out.

* SOFTER ANTI-ROLL BARS - For slower, bumpier, tighter tracks, softer Anti-Roll Bars will increase mechanical grip. This will increase inner wheel traction.
Maybe it is just me but changing the balance of the brakes to 50/50 allows for better braking without locking the breaks fast.
I love this game

But the last few days nearly every damn events in the daily events is in the wet.

The wet physics in this game are beyond garbage and always have been, all they have done is drop the grip rating by about 70%, you get no feel, the wipers are horrific, the raindrops are the size of houses.

Wet tyres on gravel WORK, not in this bloody game where every wet surface is basically ice.

it simply adds to the summary that the ONLY thing Codies cared about with this game was difficulty and maximising difficulty at every single opportunity

The stages in the dry (other than Argentina which seems to be largely wet sand) not gravel are lovely, everywhere, the game was utterly ruined by their obsession with upping difficulty at every chance they could

The game is already difficult, you should be able to see what the weather is before you start the bloody stage as you could in DR1, all I do now is see once the stage has loaded and quit if it is drizzly or raining, it really is THAT rubbish and this week nearly every sodding stage or ralllycross has been wet, it seems that they have dumped all over the existing fan base by doing this and moving on to EA.

You cannot make any changes, the setups in this car affect the car a tiny amount quite honestly, it is about the physics, and in the wet they are beyond simply above and beyond garbage.

I downloaded this again after a recent graphics card update, simply to enjoy it, thanks Codies you utterly ruined it by making nearly every damn stage wet, Uninstalled
