How will this P.C. run Dirt Rally 2.0?
My current computer is getting really dated so I’m considering upgrading. I found a desktop nearby on craiglist for $1000 and wondered how it’d run this game that I’d like to play. Otherwise I’ll be stuck on PS4 :(

I figured y’all would know the best.

Here’s the specs given:

● Intel Core i7-6700 3.4 GHz

● 32 GB DDR4 2133

● NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8 GB GDDR5X

● 1 TB HDD + 240 GB SSD

Perfectly!

I have a Intel Core i7-6700 4.0 GHz.

The same graphics card.

16 GB Ram (More is hardly worth paying for, ever for games at present)

I have 2xSSD's but don't have this game on either.

All settiings on Max @60-90fps on a Germany Rally (as a test track)

Oh and I turn off Bloom & Motion Blur. Yuck!

Oh also @ 2560x1440

I imagine it would run the game rather well. You could probably set most things to ultra, maybe leaving a few things on high, and get a solid framerate.

I run a way lower specced setup (i7 920, GTX 1070) and I get decent framerates with mostly Ultra settings, MSAA disabled (TSAA active), with 1440p (2560*1440) resolution. Especially if you play in just 1080p (Full HD) resolution, you will have absolutely no problem.

It should run fine with those specs. I'm running a GTX970 with an i5 4690 3.5. 16G ram. Runs fine on the Rift. I turned down crowds to med & a few other options but it looks quite good. I did notice rain affected performance but I didn't tweak for that yet.

Waov... That i7 920 still going strong with DDR3. Thanks for posting.
Max settings on a flat screen and good performance in VR most likely. I have an I7 4770 and a 1070ti 16gb DDR3 ram and my OS is run on a Samsung SSD and I get 60 fps with most settings on ultra and a few on high and in VR I turn every option either off or to it's lowest I get 45 most of the time and sometimes it will dip to what feels like about 25-35 fps. In my case I think my processor is the weakest link.

what is your CPU usage during gaming with these settings?

It's usually at 100%, it seems to be what's causing my bottleneck while playing in VR

thank you. But i do not think it is the CPU as another poster here wrote he is fine with i7 920 (non-VR). Try his settings and turn off crowds completely. It adds significant FPS. And, turn on Vsync from NVidia settings in desktop and set Maximum prerendered frames to 1 from same "Manage 3D settings" tab.

i7 920 ???? this CPU is 100% a bottleneck today....

My Geforce GTX 1070 TI died after 3 months of DR 2.0 ....too warm !!
although I have kind of a good machine and a good cooling system.
I went to Geforce 2070. amd a MSI screen 144hz . So far, so good. Howver the graphic card is really noisy compared to the previous one.
