If you bugger up the xml mod you can copy and paste the original back into the hardware settings and save.
I was also wondering if such modification are generally allowed by Steam and CodeMasters.

Why can't they make it just plug-and-play? The older I am, the less I want to read and know about the computers, least about how to connect the peripherals. I want to chose the product, buy it, connect it and use it. Or is it too much to expect?
Anyway - thanks again
I was in the first 200 preorders and it took almost a year to get it. The company are very slow to respond but the product adds that little something that you miss when you forget to turn it on.
The next problem was that the SimShaker software vendor had cancelled the activation keys provided by Realteus in a bundle with the equipment.
Meantime, I have found and installed an alternative software - SimHub with ShakeIt extension and now everything works fine, adding nicely to my DR 2.0 experience. In the end, it was worth the wait.
