for sure I'm not laying this on Jon, but I wonder if the notes were checked using much slower cars. It's with cars capable of high speeds. This problem exists in most if not all locations in the game.
Trouble is this would require a full re programming of the game, they couldn't patch this by just adjusting the timing over the whole game. Because generally a lot of the notes are ok. They'd need to go through every stage, every location at high speed to find the bugged notes. Unfortunately we know CM only too well and it probably won't get fixed.
In fact it's not a case of moving the timing of the calls, some need a rewrite, because it feels as if some stages have been noted using "soundbites" plonked in where a dev has felt it should be.
There is a lack of fluidity in transitions. Some series of corners need the words "into" and "immediate" adding in, along with some "double cautions" for good measure.
In real life we hear of some drivers having "local knowledge" this is akin to learning and remembering stages in the game. But in my albeit short rally career you learn to trust your notes, not your memory.
Even in setting the speed of his calls, It will be always too late or too early, a true nightmare.
I had a look at this thread a few days ago and wasn't sure about responding. I have noticed that the calls are not as clean as the other titles I play (all the Codies ones!) and tonight in Germany I was passing corners and my off sider was calling that corner AFTER I had negotiated it. This happened repeatedly.
My calls are on "late", 'cause that's how I have enjoyed them in the other titles. But "after" is something I have never encountered before.
Having said that, it's _normally_ not too hard to just keep your eye out and assess the upcoming corner situation.
Perhaps as we move into this title we will see an improvement as we train our off-sider?
Unfortunately in rally, "generally" good notes are not enough. Especially high speed 5's and 6`s. :)
Ask Neuville, he knows it first hand. :D
