Anyone still suffering from no ffb?
I finally fixed the force feedback on my G29. If there are people out there still have no force feedback, I hope my story would help.
So the thing is that even after Codemaster issued the patch to fix the FFB I still couldn't get my G29 properly working if at all.
Here's what I did (I don't know exactly which step killed the issue)
1) Uninstall Logitech firmware.
2) Uninstall G29 drivers from Windows control panels.
3) Delete Logitech folders in registry.
4) Reinstall Logitech firmware.
5) Adding <official="false" > to the configuration file corresponding to G29.
6) In game, go to Option> Input> Logitech G29> Vibration and Feedback. Set "Force Feedback Override" to "Device Driver". And of course turn "Vibration & Feedback" on.
Before I thought my wheel is broken. Now I'm so happy the ffb is working.

Hmm... I don't know exactly what you mean by 'bad'. Is it not working at all? With current patch I do feel wheel friction and bumps (mainly when sliding off the road). It's not that prominent compared to the FFB in Dirt Rally but I'd say it's definitely decent. I also considering VR.. good to know it's coming.

You can also share the FFB settings.

I tried it today . . . it is fine.
I mean, it is working fine, I still think DR1 FFB is far better but, it is working fine (I have a G29).

Same with a g29, and I faaar prefer dirt rally 1 ffb.

It misses always the slip effect... terrible situation for wheel users !

I know I'm replying to a nearly 2-year old thread at this point. But since I just had the same issue (absolutely no FFB or vibration in DR2, using a G920 on PC though) I thought I'd chime in for the record since I solved my issue.

In my case, I completely uninstalled G-Hub, including leftover files in %APPDATA%, then downloaded the last version of Logitech Gaming Software (from 2018) instead. In contrast with G-Hub where the wheel was sometimes there, sometimes not, LGS instantly recognized the wheel, applied a firmware update (!), and everything worked in DR2. Most noticeably, while I can now feel the road with the wheel, soft lock is now also applied, which changes the range of the wheel per vehicle. This is incredibly important in the game.

So apparently the problem is with Logitech software -- as it's most often the case -- and not at all with DR2.

I haven't tried installing G-Hub after LGS and have no intention to do so for the moment as the wheel is my only Logitech device.

Soft Lock is the most important thing if you want to use the real steering angle of the respective vehicle, but only those who really want it do this.
Otherwise, I was hoping for something groundbreaking here. Unfortunately nothing new.
It's not up to Logitech, Thrustmaster or Fanatec, because all of them can deliver at Dirt Rally, Assetto Corsa, ACC, rFactor 2, RRE, AMS 2 etc., why not here?

Never worry about posting helpful information even years later, your tip on installing a 2018 version of LGS solved the problem of no FFB (G29 on Windows 10 64bit) for me too, so a big thanks!

For anyone else wondering the specific version I used was ftp:/ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/gaming/LGS_8.98.234_x64_Logitech.exe
Note, when installed and you plug in your wheel it will appear to be unable to connect, ignore this, the G29 tab is still displayed and force feedback now works in games.

Also note that this is not specific to Dirt 2, NO game on my system had force feedback until I installed the older LGS. It is 1000% a Logitech software/firmware issue.

Logitech really are utterly incompetent when it comes to drivers and software. They should be seriously fined or sued for releasing software that literally removes core features from their products, without as much as a workaround provided by them.

I wonder how many gullible / non-technical customers paid Logitech more money for a new wheel, when they assumed their wheel had physically broken because of an auto software update of LGS or GHub broke force feedback. I detest hardware companies like Logitech that delude themselves thinking they can write software too.

yeah, i hate people that complain about 'necromancing an old thread' if its helpful its helpful, sometimes that 'old thread' is the only thing somebody has been able to find after hours of searching. so kudos to the person that replied years later with info. :)
also, i have a t300 now, and for the first time i feel more realistic ffb effects, its like they had half the effects turned off for the g29 for some reason. hopefully their next rally game will have better functionality and support. if it ever comes out (thanks ea...)

It is EA IP now so....
I would expect toned down physics with lots of "surprise mechanics" for getting the cars, cars parts and tuning the cars to improve a Lancia Fulvia HF into something being able to beat the Modern Rally R5 cars on the straights and at turns with golden or diamond tier "surprise mechanic" parts that also grand unrealistic resistance to damage and auto-fix for no repair cost, giving that extra advantage.
But hey, you can get the "about the same" parts if you play for 80+h for each part, granting that you will play for over 2000+h to get all parts that you need to have "about the same car parts" as someone that paid for it and can have it from the get go, like at any "surprise mechanics EA game"!

thats what i am worried about.. but hopefully they know the target audience for the dirt rally games dont want any of that and so wont buy it. hopefully they keep that bs to the main dirt arcade franchise, hopefully whatever codemaster devs are left over fight tooth and nail to make this the amazing rally sim that it could be and should be... hopefully.. but with ea in charge... i am a tad sceptical, we have seen them destroy great profitable franchises time and time again. i hate ea. and i thought codemasters was bad, lol. we didnt realize how good we had it.

I had the same problem with moza r5, I couldn't get ffb to work right away. I got it to work through the mozapithouse program when I configuration the game.
