Hitman: Blood Money

Hitman: Blood Money

Instantly dissapointed.
I love this title on Xbox, but within a few seconds I'm finding this to be incredibly and unforgivably lazy.

You're going to tell me, you had this game on Ps3 and Xbox360 but now there's suddenly no controller support? I have to use keyboard a mouse? Ludicrous. And the achievements somehow didn't make over either.

Bad Eidos. Bad. Forshame.

If developers are going to totally dime out and make their ports like a TV dinner they shouldn't even bother.

EDIT: Typically, for the record, I don't mind using KB+M. But this is the kinda game I prefer controllers with, especially after already experiencing it with one. Normally I can live without achievements too, but why not port them with the game? This seems like some kindergarden drop out stuff.

The PC port isn't great but it's definetly playable and the Steam release (as well as the GOG release possibly) actually lacks a bug that remained on the retail copies -- even with patch 1.2. The bug simply made the game a hell of a lot brighter when you entered first-person mode. I haven't encountered many bugs in the Steam release personally - and they were very minor if I experienced any - but the game does have an issue regarding Vertical Syncronization.

The controls are a bit clunky (as if they were made for controller users) but the keyboard controls are still fine and I'm definetly better at playing the game with a keyboard honestly. Controller support would've been nice but proper mouse and keyboard support is obviously preferred to minimal mouse and keyboard support and the option of using a controller. Regardless: there's multiple external free programs you can use if you wish to use a controller.

Achievements? Meh. The Steam release came a while after the PC retail release so expectations of achievements were minimal. It's also worth considering that the Hitman HD Trilogy came out way after the Steam release. I personally wish for a HD remastering of the titles for PC, mainly so technical and gameplay bugs are fixed, but this version of Blood Money is the best. The console versions have quite a few problems including a hz issue and lag when the game gets divided into 2 screens to show the player important events occuring on the map.

I think you are entitled to your opinion and I completely respect it, but I just think your overreacting a tad bit.

After playing this game on PC for hours on end I have no problems with it. The keys for actions are editable, even if not changed they are fine. Sure in the mardi gra mission the people sometimes have stick legs from far away but the game looks better than half the games coming out now. I was entranced by a man walking past a window at one point, it wasn't some scripted ♥♥♥♥, it wasn't anything to do with what I was doing, it didn't have lens flare or super HD textures. It was a man walking by a window with a curtain over it, it just looked so normal, I let my idiot mark, Sinnistra, do another round of going to his computer then the lounge again because of that guy in the window and I would do it again every time. I haven't found guards running into walls, I haven't seen the A.I fall off of buildings, I haven't seen bodies spaz out much and I haven't seen someone get so upset by not having achievements in a game. This isn't a lazy port, it lacks controller support, something you would think you would get a console for, and it lacks achievements. This isn't some ♥♥♥♥ like the Binary Domain PC port, this is great. I have also played the console version and it is equally fun.:conwayshrug:

The Mardi Gras mission is probably the worst offender when it comes to the draw distance and the only mission to have "stick legs". Everything you've said is valid but I wish we could address this via. the game's files or something. I've seen no such fixes thus far though.

I have completed and replayed this game many times on PS2, but I don't find that hard to play with mouse and keyboard, it's not like an console game like "Ace Combat" which HAWX have a similar control, that is hard to play on K+M, and Dark Souls too, I can't play on keyboard and mouse.
The thing is, Blood Money with keyboard and mouse I find perfect, just like the others hitman games, just to be able to aim perfectly using the mouse, instead of the right analogue stick.

If you're good with a mouse and keyboard you should be able to do well in any PC game IMHO. I've braved through far worse controls in PC games :P.

[EDIT]:

BM's just a bit clunky (moreso than the previous Hitman games I think) but it's still very much playable on PC.

Aside from stretched loading screens and not scaling UI properly, it's actually surprising how good Blood Money still looks on PC.

I'll look into that if I ever want to bother again. Thanks.

Honestly sounds like something wrong on your end. As if you're trying to tell the game to run in 4:3, and those are the only 4:3 resolutions available.

Okay, Mr. At my friends house. Nothing more sad then a guy who spends his time on forum for a game he doesn't even own. "Your points have little merit, but I spent my time playing them on the console version that includes the things you're complaining about be missing."

Good job. *slow clap.* I'm out. There's nothing you can say to change the fact I'm dissapointed on how the port was done, despite the fact you think it's okay. We're all entitled to our opinions and I'm not about to sit here defending how I feel about a product to you. Especially when the company I'm talking about has a history of this kind of garbage.

Haters gonna hate trolls gonna troll
Well back when it came out, there wasn't much technology anyways. Flat-screen CRT monitors with lower resolutions were the common denominator. Am I wrong? Controller support wasn't a big thing on PC at the time, joysticks were but game-pad controllers weren't. In short, you can't really blame Eidos for development choices at the time this game was made. If it was now, I'd see the reason to compain but.. yeah.

Still, you're getting a better game that Absolution so just embrace the ole'fashioned pc culture and appreciate what you're about to penetrate.
OT:

Xbox and Gamecube were great, PS2 was horrible. I realize PS2 had the biggest game library and most sales but that certainly doesn't mean it had the best quality of hardware or software by any means. PS2 was so soft-pixeled and low-res that it hurt my eyes after playing the original Xbox or Gamecube. Yeah, they all ran at the same res at the end but that emotion engine in the PS2 was definitive crap. I experienced the same thing play 360/PS3 because of the native 720p software, it would just hurt my eyes after playing a while. Thankfully I game in 4k now, my eyes are in F#$%ing heaven! :D
