Hitman: Blood Money

Hitman: Blood Money

Instantly dissapointed.
I love this title on Xbox, but within a few seconds I'm finding this to be incredibly and unforgivably lazy.

You're going to tell me, you had this game on Ps3 and Xbox360 but now there's suddenly no controller support? I have to use keyboard a mouse? Ludicrous. And the achievements somehow didn't make over either.

Bad Eidos. Bad. Forshame.

If developers are going to totally dime out and make their ports like a TV dinner they shouldn't even bother.

EDIT: Typically, for the record, I don't mind using KB+M. But this is the kinda game I prefer controllers with, especially after already experiencing it with one. Normally I can live without achievements too, but why not port them with the game? This seems like some kindergarden drop out stuff.

Summary
-No Controller support
-No Achievements

And you're calling this unforgivably lazy? Try playing an ACTUAL bad port, like Saints row 2. Maybe then you'll appreciate games working properly.

I forgot to add it only supports resolutions of a tiny monitor. There's nothing here to defend. It was a lazy TV dinner port. Stick in microwave, push button, PC version. It is lazy. There is no defending it. Is there worse ports out there? I'm positive. But this shouldn't be the basis of a defence for a game. "It's okay, there's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games out there."

Honestly that doesn't say much for it. Furthermore, I wouldn't even care if EVERY OTHER version of this game didn't already have those things. PC versions should be equal or better, not a downgrade.

What are you talking about? When I played Blood Money, it supported 1080p from first boot-up. Unless you're running 4k or 1440p, that's probably your native res, and if you are running 4k or 1440p, then you're well used to editing games to run at that res.

So you still only have 2 points, neither of which have much merit.
Dufflebags Dec 29, 2014 @ 1:26pm
800x600
1024x768
1280x1024

Those are the avaiable resolutions. And the game doesn't fit screen, it's framed like a widescreen movie.

Regardless, these are my feelings, and as far as I can see you don't even own the game on Steam, so why are you here defending it? It's pathetic, and I'm not going to argue with you about it. Lazy port is lazy, end discussion. Deal with it.

Because I played this game for hundreds of hours on the PS2, and have played it on a friend's computer, too.

And I was playing in 1080p. And there were no modifications to the game.

Honestly sounds like something wrong on your end. As if you're trying to tell the game to run in 4:3, and those are the only 4:3 resolutions available.

It supports 1080p. The in game options menu has more resolutions listed. You need to actually load up a level and see it.

Aside from stretched loading screens and not scaling UI properly, it's actually surprising how good Blood Money still looks on PC.

I'll look into that if I ever want to bother again. Thanks.

Okay, Mr. At my friends house. Nothing more sad then a guy who spends his time on forum for a game he doesn't even own. "Your points have little merit, but I spent my time playing them on the console version that includes the things you're complaining about be missing."

Good job. *slow clap.* I'm out. There's nothing you can say to change the fact I'm dissapointed on how the port was done, despite the fact you think it's okay. We're all entitled to our opinions and I'm not about to sit here defending how I feel about a product to you. Especially when the company I'm talking about has a history of this kind of garbage.

If you think that's a bad port, try DMC3... I really wanted to play that game too. Now it's on my desktop mocking me.

I DO own this game. On my PS2. I felt like trying to see if I could find somewhere to discuss the game.

Your expectations of a good port are ridiculous. You have 3 points, one of them is incorrect, and two are minor complaints, and one of them doesn't affect the gameplay in any way. I really don't see how this makes it a "TV Dinner Port"

I'm going to put my two cents in and say that I was really dissapointed. I played hours on the 360 version and was really thrilled to find it was on a steam sale. I didn't try the demo because I felt like it would be just like the console version. I was wrong and dissapointed. The controls were awful and I found no good solution to configure the settings. I was dissapointed because it felt like the game was too punishing for a stealth based style of play. The experience was painful. I came across the two thugs that they reccomend you throw the coin at. Memories of the first time I played came flooding back. But instead of sneaking by to get a good toss, I realized how awful the controls were. I was punished for trying to do it the good old fashion silent way. It told me that it was not what made a good Hitman game. It said that it completely tossed aside the purpose of stealth first for a more traditional run and gun shooter.

yes there are, it still runs, so what, it is an old game that was ported from consoles. compare it to a game like heBR said saints row 2 and you will see that your complaints are minuscule, especially when you compare it to modern games. at least this game is awesome, so think before you say a gmae is bad just because it doesnt support controllers, what ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lame excuse for an argument.
Dufflebags Jan 6, 2015 @ 4:24am
First of all, I infact do enjoy this game. It's my favorite in the series. But it's still beyond lazy to not port over all the functions the game had on console to PC. There's no reason to not have controller support or achievements beyond sheer laziness. I've yet to see a valid argument or obstacle that would prevent the developers from doing this.

Secondly, you're going to say I have a weak argument, yet your only argument is, "Oh, but this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so this is okay." No, it's not. Just because there is worse games out there doesn't mean the bar should be lowered for everyone else.

Lastly, this isn't an argument. I'm not imposing my opinions on you, or telling you how you should feel a bout a product. I merely stating my personal dissapointment to not have certain functions included. I bought this game again because it /is/ a good game and I thought it wouldn't hurt to own it twice so I don't have to drag out my xbox to play it. But as much as I like PC, and KB+mouse I prefer a controller for particular games - this happens to be one of them. Most third person games for that matter just feel more fluent. This game on the keyboard and mouse feels clumsy, rigid and distant from the gameplay. You can tell it was made for consoles and then slapped on PC for the 'yolo' factor.

You don't have to like it either. But clearly, as this thread displays, I'm not the only one bummed that these very simple things didn't make it over to the PC version.

EDIT: So go ahead and continue to flame me because I'm dissapointed about something. Let your fanboyism completely blind you to the facts and get mad that I'm critiqueing your precious video game, without recognizing the fact that I too, enjoy and appreciate the game. But me, unlike you, is not so devoted to something that I get mad everytime someone doesn't like something about my beloved Hitman. And yes,I recognize it's not a big deal. But it still dissapoints me and I'm entitled to that feeling.
