Yet Hitman Absolution is superb to play! Very easy and a lot of fun.
Hitman games never hold you by the hand, you're given the tutorial, the rest is up to you.
Just like they're meant to be. Levels are to be explored, understood and then conquered by SA rank.
Not everyone likes this, I love them for it.
Moreover, you are supposed to be furtive. It is a stealth game, and the "proper" way of doing the missions is by not being seen nor heard, without innocent casualties, preferably leaving in your suit. You just have to be careful, pay attention and have perfect timing. Sneaking around, hiding, blending with the environment... Being clean, silent, precise and efficient: these are all the tools of the perfect Hitman, the Silent Assassin. Be the Ghost, the Legend fit for 47 himself. Otherwise you can just blast your way through the missions, it is ultimately up to you.
I've played this game a lot on the PS2 and now I've gotten it for the PC, and I've had no problems whatsoever with the controls, it is very easy for me. Only zooming with the sniper seems to be a little tricky.
How is the wire supposed to be used (ie is the button pressed and held while creeping towards the target, or is it a quick press - this is the most vexing). I just miss and get caught.
I played a bit of Absolution and I really liked it as well. It is similar enough to be a similar experience of Hitman, and different enough to be exciting.
As for Hitman, you kind of need to think like a hitman. This is more a puzzle game than anything else. Walk around a bit, find out where you're allowed to go in your suit, watch the guards to see where they can go, and then see if theres any place you can kill a guard to steal his clothes. It can be a little frustrating at times, but this game has a ton of different ways to complete objectives, and its super rewarding to see a creative technique pay off.
Calling it a "puzzle" game is very fitting. You have to get into the mentality of the game and out of the "shooter" mentality. Finding how all of the pieces fall into places is more important than the killing itself.
Bad Whippet: that must be a problem on your computer, some compatibilities as you said or memory problems. I haven't had a problem with this game, but I've had some crashes on others before. Computers are complicated and unforgiving machines, it can be tricky to know why something happens.
Try to change some options of graphics or audio to see if it is something related to that. Run the game with nothing else running. Update drivers. Uninstall and reinstall if nothing helps.
