No, no - a million times, NO.

I am a Hitman fan since 2000. I still have the "Platinum" game-disc of Hitman: Codename 47.

That game sent a shock-wave through the industry on release, despite it's flaws.

It was sickening and taboo. You felt somewhat despicable playing it and that was it's beauty.

SA was a good follow-up, an evident "spy-thriller" twist but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AI with 0 rationality.

Contracts returned to the extremely atmospheric, sick and twisted nature of the original in a brilliant fashion. It was a very faithful adaptation with polished new mechanics.

NOW, I AM NOT SAYING BLOOD MONEY IS A BAD GAME.

It's mechanics and gameplay are OK. But if you are 100% honest with yourself - and, above all, you KNOW in your heart what the essence of Hitman really is, you have to accept the fact that Blood Money is NOT THE BEST *HITMAN* GAME.

Hollywood-y cutscenes, unatmospheric music compared to previous ones (I love Jesper, but this wasn't his best work), lack of tensions and immersion no matter difficulty, poor gunplay feel, and unremarkable, cliche ending put this game on the BOTTOM. Dare I say, below Absolution for me.

A vast majority actually think Blood Money is the "magnum opus" of the Hitman franchise. They are all dead wrong. These people never played Codename 47 to completion, or merely dabbled in it and then uninstalled because it was "hard and buggy".

But as a TRUE Hitman fan, I can install C47 or Contracts again and again, soak in the atmosphere and get immersed in the role, and really feel that I am this psychopath - an antikiller, a heartless victim-turned-stalker turning the tables on my enemies in a REALLY personal manner.

HITMAN: CONTRACTS IS THE DEFINITIVE HITMAN EXPERIENCE.

Oh man, clearly I am definitely not well versed in Hitman stuff, and it certainly doesn’t help that absolution was the first hitman game I played (as I got it for free on the 360 years ago before my 360 died), but I certainly enjoyed Absolution for what I did do. This opinion, will definitely get me burned at the stake, but hear me out so far I’ve enjoyed my experience of absolution better than blood money strictly in terms of gameplay and not necessarily anything else asides graphics (but graphics are and should always be a nice benefit and not a strict requirement). It’s been awhile but I do believe the experience felt smoother on absolution, like I was able to execute more moves in a more fashionable and quicker way. Now it may be due to the fact I’m new to blood money, but say the fiber wire feels much more difficult and inconsistent even when I’m practically hugging my victims back. Now do I believe absolution is the best of all time? No. However, I feel like it’s the best controlling one of the two I played. I’ve enjoyed both blood money and absolution. Eventually I’ll pick up 2016 when I actually have more than $0 to my name and account. However I’ll be looking forward to it in a couple months... or years, however soon I get steam cash.

Blood Money has the best atmosphere. It's the most SOULFUL Hitman game. Previous games come close. Sadly with Hitman 2016 the series has lost its atmosphere and SOUL.

I wish Hitman Contracts was rippable in a good sense. Try using NinjaRipper to get any kind of models from it, the normals are busted and the UV Maps are damned to all hell.
