1) launch steam
2)verify Blood Money files (1 file is always missing and needs replaced)
3)right click on Blood Money in Steam and run config to enable and override
SLI
4)run game and have to manually set video settings to maximum
then the game runs fine (it does fail to completely close, so if I want to
run it again I must kill it in task manager and then not have closed Steam)
Every time Steam is restarted I must restart the process again, but the game
does work then...I don't know if there's some kind of glitch with the game config.
I'm afraid I don't understand...what patch? And how would I load the game without the Steam app?
That's really more of a crack than a "patch" isn't it? Not really what I was looking for.
Too bad for you, the patch is working and it is not a crack. So have it youre way...
Do you have some kind of anti-virus running? If Steam fails to validate a file every time you restart Steam, maybe the anti-virus is somehow detecting the file as a virus and removes it? If so, make the anti-virus restore the file and add an exception for it.
I'm sure you've done this already, but make sure your graphics driver is up to date, if it is then you could try to roll it back to a previous version.
Also, if a file is fails to validate every time you restart Steam (and an anti-virus isn't the cause), then maybe try to find out what file fails to validate every time Steam restarts (maybe it's the config file itself?) and then set the file to Read-only. Speaking of which, if you have to change your settings every time you play the game after restarting Steam, then set the config file to Read-only.
Hope you can fix the issue, it may not be a huge issue, but it definitely sounds annoying.
after trying many things I have found that the solution is:
1-run the game.
2-go to task manager and close (HitmanBloodMoney) process -leave rundll32 running.
3-run the game again.
I hope it helps.
