Black screen when starting the game

I'm having this issue. I've already tried a lot of fixes found here and on google, but nothing works. If i wait till the end of the cutscene, the game just freeze

For me limiting FPS to 60 with RivaTuner did the trick on DX8. I can see the Sicily cutscene and managed to get in game to some little room where the game starts. Haven't tested yet, since I've heard there can be other stuff like black npc's and haven't tried changing to widescreen either.
