Im really shocked that you think this is a new concept. This happens all the time, not just with small studios like this one but with larger AAA studios as well. If you want a prime example of a game that marketed so much more than was released, but then improved and released most of those features over time, google no mans sky.
Long story short, you arent getting a refund. Steams refund policy is blatently clear that if you play a game for over 2 hours, you cant get a refund. And added the fact that they even have a free demo to test out before you buy the game to see if you like it, the blame here is mostly on you. Dont be such an idiot when buying games, blindly rushing in without checking what you are buying
State one game who MISSES ALL THE FEATURES FROM THE TRAILER, ALL.
Watch that. This trailer for the game was released at launch. How many missing features are there?
Also again, no mans sky. That game was missing the large majority of all its main features that were advertised.
Honestly mate, I wish that were true. Cba to link it but if you check one of the other topics complaining about the new update, a guy links like 5 games that arent developed by the same people and says they are made by the devs that make this game
we have been explaining this in previous posts :)
The trailer was a draft, that we've made. But during the creation of our game, we've decided to go with a no violence path. This is a drug dealer simulator, not a gangsta dude simulator :)
We are also working on adding many features, which were included in the old trailer.
There's a free demo, that people can download and try out how the game looks like.
We do care about our community, and we are trying to do our best to keep everyone satisfied.
Cheers.
Not only will it make the game play a bit better, maybe it will stop all the people spamming the forums with posts complaining that the update is taking too long, making it easier for the rest of us to just chat about the game, share ideas and what not
And this post is why...
Oh, let me think, because I give you proofs but you don't believe me, and create a post to talk about me and the "problem" you think the players "like me" we have.
And you know what? You don't reply me. I show your sources and links, about steam, the devs pages, the twitter, hidden video, the whois with the 4+ years company. But you don't believe me
OKAY, I just do what I should do

IKR? It's honestly insane how some people think that a game and/or patches for a game can be pushed out nigh instantaneously. These things take time, people! Even for big studios like Rockstar, EA, Bethesda, Ubisoft, etc producing AAA titles, those games can sometimes take 2-3 years! Just look at The Elder Scrolls VI for instance, it was announced officially at E3 in 2018 and Todd Howard of Bethesda Game Studios said that it won't be out until after Starfield, which is set to be released sometime this year, 2 years after the announcement of TES VI, so we likely won't see it until 2022 if I had to guess. That's... OH! FOUR YEARS! The same amount of time that the website for ByteRunners Game Studio has supposedly been around! Finally, take into account as well that ByteRunners Game Studio is a small indie development studio and NOT a huge AAA game studio like Bethesda with hundreds of people working on one game, and there ya go.
So yeah, people complaining about missing features and that this isn't the developer's first game and the company has been around for years and yadda yadda need to keep in mind that this is an indie game developer, meaning there are very limited people available to work on the game, unlike huge companies like Bethesda who can devote hundreds of people to a single title. Does it excuse the mistake the publisher made? No. But I for one am willing to give a small developer just starting out a decent chance.
Noone is expecting a update every week though communication on at least a weekly basis is expected by the community. The fact we get a post from them every 5 or so weeks is very poor form. Now we dont expect them to be wasting massive amounts of time answering every comment or post about how unhappy we their customers are, answering the community with a post here and there would ease the impression people are having of them.
This game cannot be considered finished, they themselves have said their is no end game content. They have also said they are working on putting many more content updates in the game. thats good to hear but also says that they know the game was not a finished product. Why then sell the game as a finished product? it is very clearly a early access game at best. Anyone that has brought this game regardless of gameplay should be entitled to a refund purely by the fact that they brought a full game that has half the content and no end to the game and as such is not a finished game.
As i have pointed out, the last time we all heard from the devs was during a steam sale where they assured people that they were back from a long unannounced absence. And that they would be working on the game again. They also said that despite the call from a great many of their customers they would not be adding content to the game in the next update but more a graphics overhaul that noone was asking for. Now over a month later the update noone was asking for is still nowhere to be seen despite the devs saying over a month ago that the update was coming soon. And again radio silence from the devs as to what is happening, what will the excuse for a month of silence or do we need to wait for another sale for them to make the game look active to get more sales.
In the whole noone can claim that there is not a strong unhappiness from the community over the game, the Devs, the situation and how its been handled so far. the fact they have lost over 90% of their playerbase according to steam should show you how upset the community is.
