Should I hire addicts as dealers?

Anyone have advice on if I should hire an addict as a dealer? I have had a couple of addicts ask to become dealers for me. I have declined as I think they'd just keep the drugs and I'd be out of pocket. Is that a fair assumption or do they pay their debts?

haha... you're over thinking here WAY too hard.. it doesn't matter if they're addicts or not, but you are going to need dealers to help grow your business, as they will gradually place bigger orders than your clients, especially once you reach endgame!

But once you've declined their offer they wont ask again and will forever be a client.

As stated above, never any reason to deny dealers. If someone requests to become a dealer you should hire them or at least NEVER deny and let the request sit. Orders / Requests sitting and waiting acceptance have no effect.

Was thinking about this most of yesterday, and this could've been a cool mechanic for the game.
A junkie dealer that makes a huge order & doesn't pay, leaving us out of pocket and needing to settle a score by taking them out, with either a lethal version of their favourite drug, arson attack on their home or, and here's the contentious one, shooting them.

Yeah, it is kind of funny that our entire well oiled machine of an organisation is drug addicts. Surprised none of the lab stock goes missing either.

Thanks for the info everyone. I guess I was thinking too hard about it! I might start a fresh game and hire the addicts this time. Might make things easier for me. I think I have about 12 clients now and I have only just unlocked the area past the wall. Its a lot of running around!

I've also read on other threads where addicts hired as dealers will order more as dealers. Haven't followed that to see if true, but I will on my new save.

In my experience, hiring addicts as dealers leads to overdoses. I also had to start giving addicts weaker product in order to prevent overdoses, which wouldn't work well for dealers.

I haven't had an OD since I stopped selling meth. I have a supply to get you addicted, and one for the addicted and dealers. E, C, and H I mix that at 75% drug, 20% sugar, 5% baking soda. Never any complaints from dealers or addicted. If I drop below 80% with amp, no matter who it is(their quality can be at 50%, doesn't matter), they complain.
