Yep, sadly the publisher killed the game, devs already said they won't be making anymore, which is sad, because this game has so much promise not used.

because they fked up so much and didn't respect the older players when the DLC came out, making new players buy the base game and DLC for 50 bucks while owners of the base game had to pay 40 for the DLC, aka the full game price, that made the game DEAD. Most of the still-playing users simply said, Fk this I'm out and after PCF said that they won't do any new DLC and the game is finished, they moved on to another project. Only patches will be made to this game, and servers will be online while there's a minimal playerbase online. I mean all platforms, not just Steam, because on Steam the game is more dead than Division 1 in terms of player count.

and here i was hoping it's same as destiny and having similar decent playerbase / community etc ... man the game looks so good ...aah i wish if the devs have did more planning and made it a live service like destiny

Because this is a 2 year old linear campaign based (game has a one start and one end) single player game with optional co-op and optional end game. Destiny 2 is an always changing live service game designed to make players come back and play for hours every week. They are not the same type of game and player count is irrelevant for Outriders.

and that was 1 of the reasons this game died if they actually made a game not like destiny ofc but a game like the division 2 wich is what outriders mostly was based of a look alike copy of division with flashy power istead os tech gadgets
they could have made a game last years to come but nope greed always comes first these days and it sucks that these devs and publishers dont give a crap about players anymore
Yeah, this game isn't a constant live service or anything. No real MMO stuff either. Destiny seems to be in the lead for whatever reason in the ways of live service/ online FPS-RPGs but is also in a different category. Outriders is a game with a set amount of content that eventually ends unless you wanna grind for perfect weapon rolls or mess around with builds.

One and done story with so-so DLC doesn't really keep people playing forever. I'd say it's still worth a look, on sale, to see if you like it but refund before the 2 hours if it isn't what you expected.

Because there is literally no competition, the closest is Borderlands but as great as each game is you can buy the whole franchise cheap and play through it in a couple months depends on your schedule where as Destiny 2 has people coming back each day, week, month, or year.

The same lack of competition also let's Destiny 2 continue riding complacency and stagnation.

no competition well Actually, that is incorrect the only game that is always toe to toe with D2 was and will always be Warframe a game that is still up since 2013 and still pulls 50k+ players daily and that is steam alone warframe is on all platforms from PS to xbox to nintendo and pc

Two different kinds of games, that's like saying TF2 is competing with PubG.

Both are online mmo action space looter shooters with constant lore being added to both. Both are live service, and both are equally old. Both used to have raids, but not anymore.
I'm sorry, but WF and D2 have more in common than what you said about D2 and Borderland

And radically different gameplay... Borderlands is way closer to Destiny in terms of gameplay.
