How to fix Solo Expeditions
Currently on T13 with near perfect gear and I feel like I'm playing Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare.

You face enemy counts that should only exist while multiple players are on the team. This isn't fun when I ace 95% of the expedition only to get jumped by 5 adds at once and insta-killed.

I was thinking of ways to change it to keep it fun, while still having some challenge (At least on some maps)

1. Lower enemy numbers by 20% for solo players. Allow players to toggle maximum enemies for 1 extra loot drop.

2. Add 1 minute on the timer for solo.

3. Pause Timer during UNSKIPPABLE cutscenes.

4. Allow 1 self-revive per segment at the cost of 30 seconds on the timer.

I don't want it to be easy, I just don't feel it's particularly fair with the current amount of enemies that exist that a single person has to deal with. Take the Marshlands Expedition for example. At the very start you have to deal with like 6 Alphas and 2 Brood Mothers simultaneously. You pretty much get stunlocked since they are all immune to CC.

Unless I'm missing a crucial mod that allows me to not instantly die, this isn't fun.

I also love how the magically materializes mobs right beside you. They appear from nowhere. Reminds me of the cops in Cyber Punk before they fixed that non-sense. Hard to be a distant fighter if they just spawn mobs wherever you are on the map. Idiotic way to artificially inflate difficulty.

Also. The game wants you to rush forward, but if you do, enemies will spawn behind you, mostly shotgun or melee.

I love how so many people are ignoring the difference between challenge and cheap game mechanics. Not only that, they blanket people who want a legit challenge as "cry babies". Way to act like an adult and engage in thoughtful discussion.

Considering the childish fan base and pathetic state of the game I wouldn't be surprised if this game's population drastically decreases after something like Path of Exile's new league releasing next week.
yah Im really only into this before Phantasy Star 2 NGS is released.
A week in to the game and its all just the same formulaic mob types over and over. That ""Challenge"" is just making the mobs more bullet spongy, doing more dmg and you taking more dmg. You cant get better gear when its locked behind a massive difficulty wall, and when you climb that wall the Devs chop your hands off by nerfing your build.
Point this all out and your called a whiny baby because heaven forbid you repeat the same nonsense over and over and over with no results, but your the problem! Not the game!

You shouldnt think like that, you really dont need it, if you think that way you are only gonna frustrate you more.
So theres only a handful of useful mods in the game and if you don't have them, you're screwed? Because everything I got right now ain't workin.
There are many nice mods, but I got to T15 without any of them on my trickster, all of my mods were level II.

Then I spent a good amount of time farming T11/12 expedition for legendary gear and dismantled it as I saw fit.

The thing is, you dont need any of them, learn the spawns, the maps etc and just keep going, eventually you will get better gear and make the runs even faster and easier.

But for instance, I did all my T15 clears using the DLC purple AA (originally blue) and it was very good. I didnt get the fancy mods until recently, in fact, not until yesterday I got the ones I wanted, but until then I was farming T13 fine.

The trick is what I said, find whatever expedition you find easiest, and focus on that one, farm it, use it to level up tiers and dont do the hardest tier, so if you are currently on T13 dont do T13, do T12 and level up your gear to T13, once you are ready to move on do the T13 and repeat the process, thats what I did.

Destiny has timers as well, some of the content at least, the problem here is that there is no variety on the end game, but maybe in the future there will be.

Also, there are so many people asking for timers to be removed in Destiny... its a constant ask

Here ya go.

So what? Yeah there are more crybabys which wants easy mode for everything.
And if it is easy and you clear CT15 in no time - those are the ppl which will say: "LOL WHERE THE HELL IS THE ENDGAME OMEGALUL"
i know i dont want an easy mode that would be silly but someday it would need to become easier once a new end game comes but that is really far from now if the game doesnt die

The only problem with the timer is that it encourages players kicking certain classes/specs from the group because they don't bring the DPS needed to clear the Expedition for Gold. Nobody knew exactly how the endgame was gonna work when the game launched so it feels like everyone picking the Devastator is getting a little shafted.

I'm running the Seismic Shifter build right now and I am getting acceptable results but properly geared up Tricksters/Technomancers still outclass me by several tens of billions of damage.

Removing the timer would be the obvious fix for this, and instead switching to another metric like deaths per run to class for Gold, Silver, Bronze.

There are other fixes of course that keep the timer intact but they would require a little more tuning from the devs obviously.

Right now, as a Devastator, I feel like I'm pushed into running a build that, while being fun, isn't how I personally would like to play my class in endgame activities. I'd much prefer a proper Warden Build with the Statue or Deathproof set that allows me to be a literal rock for my fellow Outriders, draw the mobs on me and simply allow the others to do damage from the sidelines while I'm just an unkillable beast. But sadly the current meta simply does not support that kinda playstyle.

Last but not least, nerfing the other classes is the wrong move in my opinion. Instead either buff the Devastator or combat the symptoms why the other classes are simply better suited for Expeditions right now.

Yeah, for how agressive these enemies are, it's not easy for a single person to deal with. I stack armor mods but it feels like they don't really do much.

i and many others have completed CT15 with various builds, basically you need to make a proper build.

If you die then clearly you lack defenses, make it, there are tons of defensive options in the game.

Its like people complaining that its unfair they cant do mythic raiding with LFG gear in wow, you need to build up the skills and mods, basically anything from lack of damage to lack of effects to lack of defenses can be fixed with mods.

Bruh what did I just say. I stacked armor and defense mods already.

Im not talking about a raid for multiple players. Im talking about basic endgame content for solo players.

Here is an idea. I am sure this might of been said already. Remove the timer, but also lower the amount dropped for those who struggle but want to progress. Before you say whatever you want about such things, hear me out. For the timer runs, make that it's own thing instead. Where you obtain far more for your effort as long as you are able to make the timer. Not everyone has the skill or friends to carry them through timed runs, so why limit such things ya know? But it really need to timer pause or just remove the CS's all together. Me and my friends all used stopwatches on every map we did. Most maps have about a minute to a minute thirty down time of just sitting there, wasting time. Some maps are far worse then others, but because of that timer, we often just avoid maps that take up more time. Might go differently time wise if they were equal to my pyro's damage, but on a T11, I broke 110m and they only did something like 20m each and it was two of them. So I am sure it would be far differently if that wasn't the case. But everyone has the skill and or gear to push that. Myself, all I got is an Leggo gun that is alright and rest of my gear is epic. Either way, once the game is far more stable, I still look forward to pushing those timed runs even if they aren't for everyone.

Yeah. I can see how timed things could be a pain. Especially since there's no other content other than that. I'm only used to it because of all the games I speedrun anyway.
