How to fix Solo Expeditions
Currently on T13 with near perfect gear and I feel like I'm playing Doom Eternal on Ultra Nightmare.

You face enemy counts that should only exist while multiple players are on the team. This isn't fun when I ace 95% of the expedition only to get jumped by 5 adds at once and insta-killed.

I was thinking of ways to change it to keep it fun, while still having some challenge (At least on some maps)

1. Lower enemy numbers by 20% for solo players. Allow players to toggle maximum enemies for 1 extra loot drop.

2. Add 1 minute on the timer for solo.

3. Pause Timer during UNSKIPPABLE cutscenes.

4. Allow 1 self-revive per segment at the cost of 30 seconds on the timer.


I don't want it to be easy, I just don't feel it's particularly fair with the current amount of enemies that exist that a single person has to deal with. Take the Marshlands Expedition for example. At the very start you have to deal with like 6 Alphas and 2 Brood Mothers simultaneously. You pretty much get stunlocked since they are all immune to CC.

Unless I'm missing a crucial mod that allows me to not instantly die, this isn't fun.

I've seen reddit users also complaining about enemy scaling at higher tiers at Expedition.. hopefully, the devs get a wind for this..

Yeah, for how agressive these enemies are, it's not easy for a single person to deal with. I stack armor mods but it feels like they don't really do much.

I am having a good time, its challenging yet doable for a solo player.

Havent tried on my Pyro or Deva yet though

Multiplayer scaling is pretty hard, solo ads die relatively quick if you are geared for the occasion.

You are very weak though so you need to watch out and put some defensive mods.

I use two defensive mods Damage Absorber and Mitigation from Death, they are good enough to keep me alive on my DPS build.

You need to focus more on DPS though, too many defensive mods and then you wont kill ads quickly enough so you will die quickly.

The AI in this game is like bare bones rudimentary. The Devs really just Made them hit hard, have lots of HP and just zerg you.

I feel like World of Warcraft did a better job with their nearly non existent AI

I'm running Pyro. The only useful skill I got is bullet.

I'm running Pyro. The only useful skill I got is bullet.

Yeah you can go either, Anomaly builds work well with Pyro as well or so I have heard, otherwise use what you call bullet rounds.

Again I havent tried it but I have watched a few builds since I am currently levelling him up for end game

There's a weapon with a mod that I need to deal with large groups of enemies. My friend has the weapon, I find it impossible to solo things like Boom Town and Chem Plant without an adequate AOE to deal with the literal thousands of enemies.

Yeah. You have to micromanage 10 different enemy types at the beginning of every segment. It's ridiculous

Chem plant is my go to map for farming, do you remember which mod it is? I find bone shrapnel quite good for add clearing, it was the one I was using (still do) for Chem Plant. I do have embalmers rage which helps quite a lot.

Have a look at Esoterickk's Pyro build, he has even put up a few vids doing C15 clears on some of the most difficult expeditions using abilities only.

Now dont get me wrong dont expect to do as well but it can give you an idea on how an ability build looks like.

Currently I am building mine for Gun DPS as I am levelling up, might change as I am getting closer to end game.

The Wrath of Moloch or whatever it is in the infernal Seed gun. That explodes on crit. I tried other T3 mods that explode on kill but they didn't work 80% of the time.

You cant really build full defensive and expect to get anywhere in expeditions. Sure you will live just fine but you wont kill anything either lol. I do agree the AI in Outriders is terrible but use that to your advantage 90% of the time they come at you they are all bunched up Bone Shrapnel/Singularity going off and they are toast.

Are there guns that essentially have a hidden third mod? I just assumed legendary guns looked unique but were normal guns.

1. NO - stop trying to make everything easy mode for god sake
2. Only time wise hard is boom town - on every other mission there is plenty of time -> no
3. Would be fair - should save around 30 sec-1 Minute overall in a mission (Which would be the time you wanted in 2.)
4. NO - They should remove the self revive even in COOP. They way to go would be:

"If the whole party is downed, they will be respawn at the latest checkpoint completed - the time requiered to kill all enemys again is the penalty. However one player can revive another player in COOP."

You have to keep in mind - "GOLD" is a reward for achieving something. Not every single run has to be done in gold - it's enough to complete in silver to go to higher levels and you still get rewards.

It's different when you have to rush as you fight against the time limit.
