Introducing the Golem
●ᵻ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ᵻ●

▫ Background
Since the player is a frontier dwarf, I recognize that they had to leave
technology behind. However, the story leads the player to the underground
where exactly that can be retrieved. One of such technologies might as well
be the power or ability to command a Golem.

Golems are dwarven inventions, based on ancient technology. Basically,
it's a magic-infused goblet of stones, made to follow the instructions
of its master. It's rather crude, but it works.

▫ Shrine
To make a Golem, a shrine is required (the bigger the shrine, the bigger the Golem).
Inside the shrine is the magic module, a piece of magical hardware that scans
the metal plate infront of it for materials (boulders/stones, crystal, copper/gold/steel)
in order to craft a Golem. The module operates using lightning, melting / bending
the metals and ultimately instilling "life" into the contraption.

▫ Module
These types of shrines are easy to manufacture, it's the magic module that is
impossible to craft. However, if a broken or abandoned shrine could be located
then the module from there could be used to power a shrine in the Village on the surface.

▫ Golem
Once such a Golem has been constructed (with the materials provided), this Golem
could provide a number of abilities during the dwarf's adventures (being highly
magic resistant, extremely sturdy and its ability to roll). An alternative to
the costly companions that frequent the tavern.

Just wanted to mention that in terms of lore, I believe golems are a dwarven invention in Dragon Age. I'm pretty certain human mages invented them in most fantasy lore settings, and the rest of the time they are either not explained or created from wild magic and are thus an entire species. and if you want to go with the true origin, I believe you need a bunch of buddhist monks. but feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

The golem is a jewish legend. A magical created protector made out of clay - almost like the first human Adam was created. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golem

In computer games or fantasy you might extend it to any magical animated anthropomorphic creature except zombies/skeletons or pure elementals. And it would fit to dwarves.
