Troll attacks

Everything in the game suggests they attack slow, however, the ones in my game can attack faster than me and have faster recovery time...???

They attack "slow", but only slow in respect to almost everything else (yourself excluded).
The best way to deal with them is Ranged.

A tactic I like to use is dash behind them, give 'em one or two quick hits and then dash/jump away. I suggest using the skill with the three quick consecutive strikes for this manoeuvre.

I dash behind them, they change direction and attack me before i can even attack.

Those trolls are stupid, there is honestly no way to kill them with melee without suffering MASSIVE amount of severe injuries or downright kicking the bucket

They can't be blocked, they can't really be attacked from behind because when I dash behind them, they turn around almost immediatelly and there doesn't seem to be any oppoertunity to attack while they swing because they attack too fast.

That stupid stamina isn't helping either, by the way. Stamina meters in games are never a good idea. Never.

Trolls are stupid. If you run away and hide and then throw axes at them from far away they don't react. You can just keep throwing axes over and over and all of them will count as a surprise atack. you can also kite them to the caravan, hide, and when they go back you sneak atack their back with a power attack and then hit them a few times while they are stunned.

If you try melee - there is a skill in fast attacks that allows you to attack WHILE dashing.
