Killing the Librarian Wizard?
So I stole the books from the librarian that gets angry and shoots a ton of fireballs, upon which he blasted the hell out of my companion but then stopped attacking (which seems like a bug to me, but I digress). Since I can still attack him, I'd like to take this opportunity to kill him. However, I've been attacking for a long time and he still hasn't died. So I'm wondering:

1) Can someone confirm that it's actually possible to kill this guy?
2) If so, how many hit points does he have?
3) What, if any, are the rewards for killing him?

1) Yes, It's possible to kill him. I've done it today. I recommend you to do it with a few mages and the guys with the hammers. With 6-8 companions, you should be able to kill him.
2) I have no idea, but it looks like a lot. I tried to hit him myself and only could deal him 1 point/hit.
3) I received 9000 experience point and the book page, so I guess it´s a good deal.

Sorry about my bad english, and hope I could´ve help you.

Thanks! I only do 1-2 points per hit also, but the bleed from my throwing axes does a few hundred so I'm sure I must have done around 10,000. But I guess I'll come back later when I have more companions, I'm tired of mashing the throw button.

raise your fire resistance over 100% and it will be easy to kill him by our own )

He's incredibly tough in the early game. However, once you get your first few pieces of Adamantine armor or a solid orange weapon, you can kill him in one hit. I did, but then again, this is with a character that can easily deal out 100k plus damage with a single swing.

I killed him in Adamantine armor + legendary weapon + 2 mage followers

I managed to kill him alone with high fire resistance + fast attack speed, by spamming his fireballs back at him.

Took me a few tries, and when I succeeded, I was a stubbed toe away from death, but I got two levels out of it. \o/

I managed to kill him the first time I saw him, though I'm not sure how. I tried a couple of times to dash out the door without dying and succeeded on the last attempt. When I went back in, he was dead and I got a ton of xp and money.
