if i use a mod, obviously it will disable achievements for me. but if i play with my little brother will it disable them for him

Mods don't disable achievements. You can even end up using a broken mod build that's basically pure cheating at this point in the entire game and nothing will happen. The game is not protected by any anti-cheat and there's no pvp either and that's why nobody cares. Do note though, mods don't work in multiplayer, unless you both have the same mods to which I still don't know if they work but from my side, they don't. I tried to use a mod for Final Journey to be 5 mins and it didn't worked in multiplayer. You will be fine.

no mod doesnt effect you not getting achivement because i use it from start to finish
