Cannoneer/Blade Bearer completely broken

My brother and I have been playing this co-op. While there have been several frustrating points/clunky mechanics, everything up till now has been manageable. On this fight, I routinely lose the ability to drop target lock, acquire target lock, or change target lock (which has never happened at any other point in the game), which makes the boss completely impossible. 0/10 save your money and don't buy this trash.

I had no such problem with them. And I fought them a lot on different characters.

Just create a vest with maximum ice or fire resistance; it will make one of them a pushover.

Hello Orpheus. Is this your first playtrough? The most important thing is obviously to dodge all hits.
And take your time in this fight. If especially the Ice Girl is stunned, don't just do a combo. If the Fire Guy does his Cannon or the fire field under you, you will just die.

U said u play with your Brother right? So u are in a 2 v 2. 1 go left, 1 go right. So u guys will have 2 1v1`s the most time.

Never had the issue with lock on you are speaking of OP but you can always just do this:

and they will, literally, do zero damage to you making it basically impossible to lose.

Elemental Wall + Ice Armour + Flame Protection + Git gud and don't rely on lock-on (both the Blade Bearer and Cannoneer tend to juggle/switch their targets, a.i. they don't tend to stay focused on either of you through the entire time). The Ice chick can be parried. Elemental Wall buffs your partner too, tho I'm not sure about Ice Armour and Flame Protection.

You're missing the strategy being told to you by people here.

If you use the elemental resistance boosts we've mentioned you take now "low damage". You take "0" damage so it doesn't matter if you get hit.

Fight the ice lady out of range of the fire guy. The ice lady requires most attention especially with her dashes. The fire giant generally only places fire underneath you and perhaps some shots at range. These get predictable after a while especially if you play defensively and mobile. Don't be greedy. If it's co op, split the targets and have the other player sit on the fire guy while always having the ice lady in vision. The fire guy will do some AoE around him while someone is in range and it is easy to bait and avoid. Making him perform that attack will keep pressure off the other player fighting the ice lady.

Also keep in mind that the ice lady may switch targets so it may be efficient to switch targets too between players.

Make a Venom weapon and get your bro to make a Stun weapon, get a good veil with high Ice and Fire resistance. Transform your veil to have max Fire res and focus down Blade Bearer with poison til dead. The fire pillar from Cannoner will hurt kinda but not enough to really care, just kill Blade Bearer. Your bro can use stun on Cannoner to help you out to stay aggressive on Blade Bearer. Take Yakumo with you if you aren't using an AI partner
