Is this worth finishing?
So I just got to the Cathedral of the Sacred Blood and my general opinion of the levels of this game until this point was that all of them are just boring ruin corridors with nothing interesting in them...
Then I got to the Cathedral and thought: "Well, this looks pretty, but these are essentially just glorified corridors now..." I mean, this should be the equivalent to Anor Londo from Dark Souls but is just so meh in comparison.
So I thought that I take a look at other areas after the Cathedral and was negatively suprised that others also look VERY boring and that essentially nothing more interesting - level wise - will come after the Cathedral.
I worry that this game will be a waste of time for me. 15 hours in and I think the game is okay, nothing groundbreaking. Makes me want to return to Dark Souls instead of playing this further, but I want to gather opinions on this.

Thanks in advance for answers!

If you don't like it don't play it. It's not as good as other souls games but it's a lot of fun. We can't make you like it.

That's the thing. I like it, thus far at least. However, I think that the longer the game goes the more I will bore out of it and dislike it entirely. Does that make sense?

Cathedral is masterpiece, nothing come closer to this. But other levels just usual stuff. At least they are not as ugly as in Nioh. This game is pretty short overall, so ppl can do 3 runs for all achievements instead of scum saving like in Dark Souls.
I mean, Elden Rings looks beautiful sometimes, there are some nice places indeed. But most of the other DS games just dark Gothic crap without any hope or aim. Especially Bloodborn. So it is more about preferences. Though, i love Silent Hill, but it is completely different story.

Yeah it makes sense. It happens to me. I just finish it later when I'm bored of something else.

If you've been having fun so far, grit your teeth and get through it. I did. Its not a -bad- zone, its just so much sameness/whiteness to look at that it gets a bit confusing. Its legit the first 'hardish' zone in terms of timing the monsters. Its super satisfying parrying those damn teleportin' ladies.

The maps are a bit directional.... the Cathedral is more involved and quite the maze,.... but the fun part of the maps is finding all the hidden paths to complete the whole thing. Honestly the strength of Code Vein is it's story (plus it's large and varied character customizing and class building) and near the end of the Cathedral is where the story starts to pick up..... mostly one just seems to be exploring till then. I understand that Code Vein is considered an anime version of Dark Souls in it's combat and other things which honestly makes me not interested in them..... though it could be my computer is too powerful for the game which is why the fights seem an aggressive blur most of the time.... shrug.

Thanks for all the detailed answers.
I think I will keep going with the game and see how it goes.

The world mapping in this game, and the level design, is the biggest low of the game indeed, it is very very bad.

its not a gem by any mean, its made by dudes that got on their contracts making knock off of games for young crowd. But if we talking about 30-35 bucks, its a pretty good game and enjoyable, as long as you can endure how bad the level design is and look like.

Update: I finished it a couple of days ago. Was okay... Had many flaws but as someone who is craving more Soulslikes this can be recommended if you are addicted to this genre and have low standards.

It's wild how some ppl will just force themselves to play games that they feel is mediocre.

And go figure. Op actually went and finished the game. Recommends it to ppl with low standards. So goofy.

sometimes in life you gotta enjoy mid stuffs to pass time, mid stuffs that you got pretty cheap, and its alright. Not everything has to and will be great and epic, just a beer in the afternoon is ok too.

I recommend, if few bucks, this game too, since CV actually does some things right.

The world mapping and level design is absolutely boring and horrendous tho, its pretty bad and ugly.

I just finished this for the first time today. It's really rough around the edges and The Depths are all pretty samey as far as layout. The deliberate design in this was refreshing. The partner banter goes a long way in making the game feel alive.
