Can't beat Mido, he's cheating...

I used the mod Partner Enhancement. Boosts them quite a bit to make them more viable in combat/boss fights. It does make it easy on NG and NG+, but DLC bosses are still a pain.

As for the thoughts on cheating. If you are playing singleplayer, doesn't matter. Mods are there to make the game more fun for the creators and anyone else who wants to use them. As long as you aren't ruining the game for anyone else, it shouldn't matter if you mod or cheat to make the game fun for you.

You can beat Mido playing the game normally. Try different builds and different weapons, and try to get a feel for his moveset - he doesn't have that many moves, and when he goes for his second phase you can drain him for ichor. Have a gift for the inhibit his attacks inflict. I suppose you are playing with a companion? change them around, see which helps the most.

right...there is no fun if you keep getting your A$$ kicked by 2 hits. How can i get my haze back from Mido? I have over 4M haze lost and as soon as i pick it up, the game starts...?

don't you have the mistle root by that point? try to pick the lost haze up, and have the mistle root at hand to teleport back to a mistle

I played the game normally, learned the pattern, became good at dodging and it end well XD I suffered more on the previous dual boss

i just beat Mido fair and square with at level 75 full guard spec. what you think about guard vs dodge?

Guard can work just fine, as long as attacks don't bypass it. Play in a way that feels fun for you. And good job beating Mido

why you go in with this amount of haze? why not invested it before?

It's bad for mastering skills. Each area has level capacity where if you hit the upper threshold, you will stop mastering the skills (also, I suggest you checking Rin's blooc code.... There is a gift that let's you master skills faster).
Otherwise, you have to farm haze and awake materials from bosses from places like the depts area.

Personally, I spend my haze on leveling up and used awaken material for mastering the skills. I was around 155 lvl when I beat the game for the first time, so 170 lvl isn't too bad.

If you plan on going NG+, the level threshold for the area would be higher than normal, so you can master skills again. How much higher tho, I don't know.

about the level threshold to master gifts, all I can say is that if you are around lvl 200 you can't master gifts by using them throughout all of ng+, and neither up until (and including) the cathedral in ng+2
