Is there an issue playing multiplayer between the full and demo version?
I recently got Code Vein and love playing it. My wife seemed interested so I got the demo version.

I then realised that multiplayer is a thing, but i havent been able to get it to work. When ever I try to search for distress signals, it cant find it.

I've made sure to have the same password and set the same region. I've tried with my lv 20 character and a brand new one. I've even try setting the Steam Download region. Still nothing.

Anyone have any tips?

There might be. You ought as well get her the full one and if she doesn't like it she can refund as long as it is within 2 hours (steam accrued playtime, specifically, not in-game timer).

Also note you can't have too many skills equipped on codes (even unequipped ones), too many inventory items, and too many emotes (possibly cosmetic accessories, too). If you do its too much memory and the connection will either fail to find it or disconnect once you join and enter the world due to a bug so if you ever encounter this take off all but a few items (store rest in storage, take off auto restock) and unequip all but maybe 4-5 fully setup codes. If it works you can push your luck and see how much you can get to connect while equipped with your wife before it doesn't. As you tried with a anew character I doubt this is the issue though. It's probably just because one was the demo version.

also make sure the one joining the signal already unlocked the area since you cant join dungeons you haven't unlocked yet

As odd as it sounds you actually can unlike Dark Souls and Nioh. In Code Vein you can be in tutorial and get matched into the final boss in NG+ and other crazy stuff. It simply scales your level up to theirs (but not your weapon... RIP).

However, maps like depths and the main campaign maps are not linked and have separate matchmaking which is something to be aware of.

The tip is that the demo can't match with people using the full game due to you being able to travel anywhere in the game besides depths using the open world matchmaking.

Be advised this is false, I have all codes, weapons, gear and emotes on me, and never had any problem connecting to anyone in co-op sessions.

Be aware you're wrong.

It's a very well known technical issue with the game and occurs on all versions, consoles included, of the game. A simple Google search validates this, as that is how I was able to learn about it myself when I had this issue. This is only the "solution" when it occurs but it does not mean it always occurs. Whether this is because of geographical latency, internet performance, or other factors is not known which is why you may be able to get away with having some 20 fully decked out codes and every item in the game one time and then the next time you literally cannot connect at all until you strip nearly everything off at which point you instantly connect as I've also experienced and personally verified.

Just some examples of numerous Google search results showing it as a solution:
1) https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/df8xoa/possible_solution_to_late_game_connection_issues/
2) https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/dihoar/weird_code_vein_connection_issue/f3vzum3/
3) https://steamcommunity.com/app/678960/discussions/0/1745644286040989300/

etc.

Even Bandai Namco directly advised a player that emailed them over the issue to do this very thing:
https://www.reddit.com/r/codevein/comments/da5ene/troubles_with_multiplayer/f3bbbma/
"Do not worry, we can offer you a possible workaround, while our tech colleagues are investigating the situation. Could your friend, as well as you, please:
- Strip all skill for the classes you are not using.
- Clear out your emote slots.
- Clear out all stored items, that you are not using- such as items, gear, weapons you do not use.
- Turn off auto replenish
- Remove all accessories from your character as well.
The person who posted this response from Bandai Namco stated it worked for them as well as another poster responding to their post.

What's even worse is your response automatically excludes this as a possible solution when it comes at absolutely zero harm to be aware of. You would only test it IF the problem occurred.

I'd personally buy this either way, mostly when it is on sale but its got a great story and decent replay ability but not much of a late game. You can make the game last longer by making new character or role playing but again it doesn't have much for you after getting all the endings.

Eh, probably connection dependent.
I sent out a few distress calls the last few play session and as far as I could figure out, there would be some truth to what he was saying. Because if the other person was wearing a lot of accessories, the game would actually lag out a bit before it loads in their character. And I set my region to Europe (where I'm from).
I have no idea on whose is the problem tho.. or if it's from the net-codeof the game.

I haven't heard of this.... People with the demo trying to connect to people owning the full game. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised of it doesn't work to. Because again, the demo itself is the same demo to was released back in 2018 (I think). The devs must have changed tons of ♥♥♥♥ in the full game, so... The connection itself being one of the several feedback the devs received.

I stated "possibly cosmetics too" because there has been inconsistent information of how relevant they impact the issue in contrast to the other ones I mentioned... Emotes definitely make a difference but that difference could be less pronounced than items/skills as I've had varying levels of success with emotes. The biggest impact is likely the inventory and skills of which you can have massive quantities of stuff set. Further, it may be latency, geographical distance, and internet speed/hardware dependent (probably mostly on host side though I've never seen confirming info on this, but I know my side isn't lacking at all).

I don't buy what he is saying, as someone who owns the game since day one, I have all the gear and emotes available to us, and a good chunk of consumables on me, and I never had any problems helping others in co-op.

You pretty much stocked in end game, and if what he claims is true, no one would be able to co-op in end game and ng+.

The only known issue we ever had was due to having skills set in Bloodcodes we not using (and this was fixed years ago).

First off, I've stated it has worked for me and others and offered evidence of others being totally unable to connect with certain people then doing this and it worked.

Second, I've offered showing that even Bandai Namco stated it as a fix.

Third, it isn't even exclusive to PC as it is a known fix for console versions which have the same problem as well.

Fourth, you can verify it working for others on Steam forums, too, and not just Google at broad.

Lastly, and the biggest issue with your post is your stance is WRONG to begin with. You're outright stating no one shoudl EVER try this method which is false no matter what. It doesn't even matter if you believe it or not because there is ZERO harm aside from a few seconds time in trying this and you would exclusively try this if, and only if, you ran into connection issues.

Per your own INCORRECT judgement and logic you are stating that you've never had issues as "proof" of you not believing it despite overwhelming evidence. Let me ask you this: Do you claim that your experience is proof that there is no connection issue, whatsoever, with the game as your own claim indicates there is none at all? Countless other users and online resources are well aware there is a problem with the coop connectivity across all platforms but your stance is that everyone else is wrong. Think about that for a second.

Sorry but you alone, you that should think about all the others that have no issues, people don't come on Forums to say everything is working fine, you among a minority of users.

Except I gave direct evidence contradicting that I'm alone and others also stated it in this thread. Further, as long as I've adhered to having low skill/item/emote count I've never had any connection issues and I've directly seen the solution works by trying to help someone, being unable to connect after repeated attempts, and then stripping the stuff off and connecting with them flawlessly. Even Bandai said your wrong and your own statements directly contradict yourself. The fact that your pride and ego are so injured that you refuse to acknowledge you were mistaken is your loss when you could simply learn from the info being shared instead.
