♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass level design horrible/10, I sincerely hope you won't suffer from PTSD after this lazy excuse of a map.

citadel is the best level in the game has the best design
it does what it has to do
otherwise explain why yakumo says "it all has the same color we gona get lost"
the devs want you to dont know where you are so it does its job

One thing I realized that made replaying the area a LOT easier is:
"the path forward is always the thing that looks the least like the path forward"

So when you see something that looks like the way forward, it's always a distraction that will confuse you. Go somewhere else first.

What worked for me is the fact that the place is almost completely linear so I decided to not stress about it and just keep trucking since getting hard is extremely difficult, at least unless you have poor spatial awareness in which case bless you (you = people with this issue) for passing this area. Almost all side track areas either loop back directly into the main path or briefly detour but quickly dead end. The end result is you can literally go forward, and forward, and forward, until you reach the end or hit a dead end in which backtrack and go forward the other way. The exception is the multi-floor circular towers near the end of the Cathedral map that does open up a bit in "appearance" despite being actually quite linear still but with poor spatial recognition it is very easy to end up going backwards unlike prior areas where you nearly can't accidentally go backwards.
