PS4 D-Pad Skipping Menu Options [SOLVED]
So after looking at the controls for the game I decided that this is probably one of those built around using a controller. After plugging in my PS4 controller (and just in case turned DS4 on), I noticed that the game seems to react really oddly to my controller.

Most noticeably, in EVERY menu/screen in the game the D-Pad skips every other option. In-game I can end up selecting any option after doing some bizarre menu-wrapping, but on the title screen it doesn't appear to wrap so I can only choose every other option. I DID notice that when trying to equip gifts that the skipped slot lights up verrryy briefly, so I thought it might have been the controller being too sensitive somehow. However after testing it with every other game and re-installing the software it still only acts like this in Code Vein.

As a side note, also noticed that the character likes to....twitch uncontrollably periodically while moving. Possibly also a sensitivity issue?

Edit: also just found out that the R3 button is not actually locking onto the enemies, but does display their status bars. Tried switching lock-on to L3 which was displaying emotes fine, but still does not actually lock-on.

I had that skipping options issue as well.
Try this : right click Code Vein, go to properties and in the "General" tab, turn of the Steam input.
This fixed my controller issue, hope it helps you as well.

Thank you for the quick input. I tried turning the settings off, unfortunately it didn't change anything for my issue.

However, I after turning the settings off and then restarting everything over again I DID turn DS4 off and go without it. Apparently turning off the application several of the games I play require (and the rest just don't care) actually works. The one thing I didn't even think of checking because games don't seem to appreciate me using a PS4 controller for every RPG/Souls-like...

After starting the tutorial again I can suddenly scroll through all the menus and actually properly lock-onto enemies now. And no more twitching player character.

TL;DR ***Something about DS4Windows conflicts with the game's settings and causes weird issues with controller input.***
