why cant i get to ashen cavern to get artemis vestige

You are probably trying to go there too early. Look for the other marked door in the Cathedral.

oh and i think i got the hermes vestige c but wont let me repair it either and says i dont have it but i dont know how to open the doors for cathedral im for sure i just grab hermes vestige c but it says i dont have

How far are you into the game ?
From what I gather, you're at least at the Cathedral..
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you can't open the marked doors, then I'd bet you have yet to defeat the Successor of the Ribcage. Once you do, you only need to walk up to these doors and press a button on your controller to open them, simple as that.

Also, if the Hermes C vestige is greyed out, it probably means that you need to restore other vestiges prior to this one before you can repair the C vestige.

You have to be more specific pal. What do you mean you can't get into cavern? Elevator isn't working? You can't open door to elevator? You can't teleport there through mistle? Did you cleared snow mountain? Did you get back to base after that map?
And regarding hermes. There's vestiges that require other vestiges to be restored first. I don't remember which one is it, but are you sure this is not the case with c?

Im in the cathedral sacred of blood part they said if you collect all vestiges you collect all of them and then open the door. io has like this thing in her hand if you if you talk to her option is restore vestiges or leave and the door is glowing like this orange thing .i stil havent open the door they said not too. and the door i was trying to open was the door from inner tower like the door is straight forward. i hope i explain myself better now .

Jesus Christ, have you heard of punctuation? Your post is barely comprehensible.
Door to the cavern can be opened, when you killed Breath and watched a cutscene at the base.
You did that? Or are you trying to open that door, before killing Ribcage? If you killed Ribcage and trying to open that door, there is another one looking just like that at the cathedral, go there first.
If you did all that and still can't open the door, then it's some kind of a bug. Idk what to do in that case.

Door at inner tower is not to ashen cavern, but to ridge of frozen souls. Ashen cavern door is at gated room. But if i got what you're saying right, at this point you can't open niether of them. First you have to fight second boss of cathedral area, which is behind that door with Io look-alike. If you restored all of isis vestiges you can safely open that door, fight boss and then proceed to inner tower door.

Not really. If you force close your game and don't leave the memory, it won't autosave. Which means you can go back to fighting the boss once you get all the vestiges.

Anyway, you have to get the Fionn vestiges first. If you want the Artemis Vestige, you have to complete the Ridge of Frozen Souls first.

Did you already have all the vestige when you killed the boss or did you kill the boss, leave the memory and then get the last vestige?

i killed the boss but didnt knew i was missing one and i just collected the last one now.

In that case you mostly, set for either a neutral playthrough (tragic playthrough if you didn't save the Ribcage).

You can go to the Ashen Cavern by proceeding to the next Successor door at the Cathedral.
