I guess I love his tail, 'cause I never dodge it. : c

I prefer the 3rd dlc for the arena and 1st dlc for the boss atm.
The hellfire knight is more easy to read, no insta-ninja-os-jump like the 2 others (I know i'm just bad).Maybe I will change my mind with more practice.
edit: Did not like Lord of Thunder at all. Way too much aggro on player character. No time to recover stamina unless go in focus. His instantaneous 360 spin and backflip really pissed me off to no end. I ended using a ice mage build so i didn't have to approach him as much. Also aggro me less when im using magic than i was using physical attacks or shooting him with bayonet.
Hellfire Hannibal because fighting him was fun.
Thunderlord Vajra because of his cool design.
but the Ice Marduk I hate it to the bone.
The tells on Thunderlord moves are definitely pretty small and it is not always possible to even distinguish them (for example, if spell splash effect covered half the model).
For the tail strike he stands still for half a second or so, you can see that on your own video. But that is not easy to tell from him just being idle. Actually, for that reason, to get the pipe I resorted to using spells and regaining ichor with blood sacrifice so I never have to stay near him long enough for the tail attack to get me.
Yeah Thunderlord attacks have rather small (or more like difficult to tell apart) tells and huge hitboxes, but apart from no-damage challenges it is not really a bad design IMO.
I mean getting hit 2-3 times due to unlucky guesses is not too big deal since those do not do any kind of epic damage.
I think if they would make crystals to have constant speed instead of jumping around with the boss animations the fight would be way better.
I'm not against that buff design per say, but the fact that to reliably shoot those crystals down when solo one has to use AOE spell spam is not really fun IMO.
And the colors, donno I can not stand those colors, making them darker would be a good thing too.
Lord of Thunder is a bit better, since he is actually a Caster but can do lots of Melee stuff too.
Only downside of him is his huge Body, close to him it's hard to see the incomming moves.
+1 all of them <3
The orbs can move away mid-swing if boss turns around especially when using heavy weapons. Making it very unreliable to hit. IMO that part is not a good design.
The Crystals can be ignored until the FE starts to cast the Bubble around her (then the lasershow begins Q.Q), It can be tricks but if you back off and get the timing you can smack them down easily.
If you have a Companion with you, they pretty much take care of the whole issue.
With Mia for example i didn't even do anything, the Boss just died.

Without Buffing and Melee, yeah the Boss can be hard. The amount of stuff that's flying towards you is insane but even then you can charge attack and with a bit of luck hit the Crystals.
sure, with AI you do not have to even know what the crystals do. I think I only had to figure that out when it was time to get the pipe. Before that just smacked it repeatedly with whatever builds and Io to get weps and veils more or less.
but for some quality runs with melee builds and no AI-carry it is not really fun when orbs jump around with every boss move.
If you do hand to hand with her, you will have a bad time as Melee BUT you can stagger her.

You could do the same with way less Buff's and still get her down easy. No need to worry about crystals if she can't move. ^_^
But i agree, she's hard without preparation of some sort. Knowing what the Boss can do is the key to victory, even more if you go in Solo.
You could always make use of the "Dancing Fireblade" and not worry about the Crystals at all. They get hit eventually.
She was the one that took the most attempts for anything, due to the amount of things getting thrown at you.
Just reskin of ennemie on the base game.
That should be in the base game.
The only thing I don't like about the DLC's is the feeling that I'm not the intended audience for them.
I don't know maybe I just need to get good, but the hunting trials...
Some of them just smell of bs, and others of trying to make a little content go a lot farther than it really should.
The bosses feel like a one way to play if you want to get all the "new" gear.
Hats of to Noco for their guides on the subject or I would have never gotten any of the stuff, but I think the gear should have not been tied to the trials. Instead scattered across the level.
Still I was hoping for something like the Ringed City as far as DLC was concerned.
I don't know maybe the Souls series spoiled me on DLC length and quality.
