Simply pay attention to animations. Mist form dodge thingy is strong. Eats only 1 ichor, it's an extra dodge ability incase you messed up your stamina management. I like to use it against his flame sword thrust attack when you enter 2nd phase.
If you play with a big weapon you can only swing once...MAYBE twice. Aka do not overextend your swings or use your active gifts recklessly.
I also did a slow run against him once on purpose. Agile one handed swordsman with lightning blade gift thing. Run took 5min but it was fairly smooth. Speaking of Lightning, it's his elemental weakness.
I remember me doing about 500 dmg per regular attack with my one handed sword. But that was on the front of him. If I hit backside of him he has damage reduction, so I only did 300dmg per swing.
Can't remember which difficulty level I was playing on dou. And my character level was around 250 to 290 at the time.
Okay I had to go double check what I was using, so my fun little Spellblade build was:
Blood Code: Demeter
Weapon:Inferno Blade (Devour) +10
Blood Veil: Ruinous Chevalier +10
Passives:
Strength / Willpower up
Weapon drain rating up
Increased gift speed
One handed sword mastery
Actives:
- Savage Dive (ability to either close distance or get away, if you do not lock on to enemy you will dive where your character is facing, it will move you a long distance very quickly)
- Jupiter's Blade (Quick melee lightning spell, taking advantage of Hellfire Knights elemental weakness) Easy to sneak in some extra damage and is ichor friendly,
- Flame Protection: To reduce fire damage taken.
- Shifting Hollow: A must have dodge ability. This is what truly makes you quick on your feet, you can use it when you run out of stamina or take advantage of better i-frames than regular dodge.
- Gift Prowess: Makes all of your active gifts activate and come out faster, this effects Shifting hollow aswell, making that skill a god tier dodge ability. This also stacks with the passive ''Increased gift speed''.
- Bridge to Glory: A bunch of more attack power
- Foulblood Barrier: Best defensive active gift in the entire game
- Modest Offering: To revive AI or player partner
Don't ask why was I running that weapon against Hellfire Knight, I did it because; Why not ? :D
It's a playlist where you can find anything related to Hellfire Knight.
