Code Vein has a demo which you could try. The main game is better optimized than the demo.
I'm on an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-42) and get anywhere from 40-60+ (vsync off) depending on the area.
Settings-wise, most of the fancy stuff is off/low, but my Draw Distance, Material,Texture and Effects Quality are set to Medium.
You can probably squeeze out a few more fps by toning those down too.
That website shows you if your pc can run a game after installing a detection app. I use it all the time
Where does the sg.ResolutionQuality=50.000000 go?
%localappdata%\CodeVein\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\GameUserSettings.ini
[ScalabilityGroups]
sg.ResolutionQuality=50.000000
Put this at the end of the file and the next time you start the game it should give you 50% of the resolution (unless steam cloud happily overwrites the file... in that case you might have to fight steam cloud, lol. turn it off, edit this file, launch game, test the effect, turn game off, turn on steam cloud, upload your save and it should hopefully stay that way.)
Note: sg.ResolutionQuality=50.000000 is functionally very similar to r.ScreeenPercentage, AFAIK. THere is supposedly some difference but I don't know all that much about Unreal so I can't exactly give you the correct answer, someone else could probably tell us more about this. Both of these will result in a decent increase of FPS, which was a godsend for me with my Core 2 Duo E8500 and a GTX 650 Ti xD (Yes, I play on that, the CPU is 11y old now, runs 95% and I still get like 40 FPS tops... Crypt Spire gives me 20s to eve 15s, and makes fighting the duo very hard, it's like an added challenge to the game xD It's just too old for this... but upgrading this would mean replacing basically all internals anyway, I'm just gonna leave this at home when I move out, survive for a bit with laptop and PSP with the dozens of VNs I have and buy a new beast one day)
To see the difference and what r.ScreenPercentage does you can take a look here: https://docs.unrealengine.com/en-US/Resources/ContentExamples/PostProcessing/1_13/index.html
Anyway, I would suggest you download UUU to unlock the console and play around with the settings from there. It also comes with a free camera mode that's somewhat better than photo mode (allows you to go throughs objects cuz it doesn't collide with them as well as basically unlimited distace, so you can look everywhere around the map and possibly find some interesting things you couldn't find through photo mode).
