Purple feather door

So i just beat nicola at the ridge of frozen souls and I found a door at the bottom of the map that looks like the feather doors in the cathedral just purple. I thought beating him and restoring his memories would open it but that doesnt seem to be the case. How do I open it or is it important for later in the story?

I dont want to miss out on anything especially if its important so any help would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Purple door opens after you beat the next successor.
