Depends. I hear the Ice 1h Sword is pretty great since the power attack hits 4 times up close.

well i use that with blazing claw and the damage feels so weak when i have the blazing claw with the scacath chrome and the ice blood with the fionn chrome.
Iceblood is a great weapon, since on Devour you do a fast 4 hit with your heavy attack. Also Blazing Claw can be pretty nice as well but yeah elementary weapons are a bit weak in attack but yeah in good use you can make up for less damage.
Transforming them isn't, the enchant gift is kind of the weak side but it stacks even with other elements.

Defeating elemental enemies.

But yes, you are better of transforming into other things and using items / gifts to get the damage you need.

Problem is the "Standard Heavy Attack" on Blazing Claw is only an initial swipe and the 2nd swipe isn't a multi-hit. It should be imo. It should be a sweep of small explosions, but the difference is the "Strong Heavy Attack". That explosion hits all enemies around you in close proximity and it does decent damage.

Iceblood is the opposite. The "Standard Heavy" is a cone that hits multiple times, and the "Strong Heavy" hits 3 times but only on a single target (initial stab, creation of the ice attack, ice attack shatters). BC is meant more as a single-target weapon with a crowd option, whereas IB is a multi-target weapon with a single-target option. It's weird.

I really hope in one of the DLCs they introduce a lightning blade that will have the following gift triggers:
1) "Standard Heavy" swing charges the blade with lightning, allowing the connecting swing to "chain lightning" up to 3 enemies. If just a single enemy, it takes 2 strikes worth of damage (one of which is purely elemental).
2) "Strong Heavy" swing charges up and then calls down a lightning storm within a cone in front of the user. Strikes in the form of 4 lightning bolts, each dealing 75% damage. If all connect on a single target the damage would be much greater than a single swing.

So... okay... with this...

well i have ran into the conclusion that intensification works better on lighter weapons and fortification works better on heavier weapons because they have higher base attack.

like when i put intensification on my blazing claw the damage jumped to 1000.

so the damage should be pretty good if your mobility is quick and you have swift destruction as your passive.

I kinda once messed around with Blazing Claw, you can do around 30k with one hit, if right builded. As for Iceblood its also around that Value.

the whole thing is intensification has to be the best on them right because it does 1296 damage on the punching bag with swift destruction per hit. with adrenline on its 1400+

Well yeah those swords are great with swift destruction and even if they are already on fast you can still buff them in many ways increasing their damage to a max.

Edit: I mean even 2H swords are great with swift destruction. (doing additional 2k dmg)

Take iceblood to fire/desert maps, your foes fall faster than rats leaving sinking ship, and fireclaw to ice / urban areas, each boss weapon serves as best choice for one of the maps currently available.

Yeah, elements aren't like in Dark Souls where they add <x> damage that is of <y> element. Here they seem to transform your damage type by a percentage add a nonsensical percentage increase to your damage as that element and then that is checked against an enemy's elemental resist. If the resist is greater than the damage gained you will actually lose damage.

Against most enemies you'll do the same (or less since you lose some Raw on the transformation and they're mildly resistant) and against some enemies you'll do much less damage than before(because they're very resistant) but there will be enemies weak to that element that you will suddenly do 50% or more damage to (because weakness to that element) them.

Unfortunately the effect of a transformation is easily replicated by just using the <Element> Weapon Gift for a temporary effect. Which has the benefit of being something you can choose to use when necessary for a certain enemy without being on against enemies strong against that element. The downside to using the Gift is the Ichor cost, activation time, and the downtime from the cooldown.

Stacking the elemental buff with an elemental weapon DOES intensify the effect mildly which can be useful if you are fighting someone really weak against the element.

It is pretty rare for a boss to be THAT weak to an element to be worth both a transformation and gift bonus, though.

yea i wish it was added damage but sadly its not. my chaos fire greatsword was very beastly in dark souls 3 and it was able to 2 shot drake blood knights with the heavy attack wich was good for farming souls. 1 hit to knock them down and another fully charged heavy attack to finish them off.

elements can be layered on top of each other for double/triple/quadruple damage.

ice and stun are very close to being broken, ice and stun together are definitely broken.
