Voices English Vs Japanese
So when i first started playing it was in japanese, I picked a voice i liked, and felt worked with my character then for various reasons I wanted to make a new character, and desided to play in English this time... the voice i picked in japanese 's english equivalent was horrible, like the actuly voice acting was horrible. so i find a good voice in english, it does not really match my character 100% but passes in terms of usability till i check the japanese version and it just does not fit at all.
They could atleast try to find voices that somewhat match betwwen languages. So anyways ♥♥♥♥ it i give up, and can now only play in japanese to avoid killing myself

I was considering changing to ♥♥♥ VA because of how terrible some of the Eng VA is. Is there any particular reason you changed from ♥♥♥ to Eng?

The English voice acting for the main cast is good for the most part. I personally liked Davis's English voice more. There are still really bad voice acting in English tho, like the one in the city ruins with the red revenant that are chasing after a human girl. The Japanese voice fits the scene but the English voice made the character animation look over exaggerated.

Hearing Skyrim voice actors in the game takes it out a bit for me tho since I still spend a lot of time playing Skyrim lol

I tried changing from English to Japanese too before, but I kept getting distracted in the middle of battle when my companion said something and my eyes instantly trying to read subtitles =))

Well, back to English for me.

"Bye bye, Genos", I suppose. LOLOL.

I played up to like the 4th sucesser battle in japanese, but i wanted to restart with a new character so i wanted to play up to what i have already done in English. No major reason more some curiosity of what it would be like in English but the player character voices are too much for me bare, so i desided agginst it

I prefer the English language in this game because Japanese language sounds like very confusing gibberish to me that I cannot understand at all.

Almost all English dubs are terrible in general. American voice actors don't care enough about their job. Japan really respects their voice acting as much as real acting. While they can't express their body language they work double hard to express them in speech.

That's exactly why I run with English, at least in my first play through. I might try Japanese on my next run, since I'll already know what they're saying.

call me a weeb but i'd go for japanese voices even if it's considered bad (unless its just blatantly lazy voicing, which i have never encountered)

Maybe more on the anime side, but I'd say it's true across most animated media. Have you seen other countries try to dub over American cartoons? It ranges from mediocre to laughable.

There's plenty of western voice actors that take their job very seriously, and treat it just like a real acting gig even if they're not as respected in American media.

I said almost all. Exceptions in anime are Cowboy Bebop and FMA Brotherhood.
For the most part in games I pick Japanese with subs knowing they actually cared about portraying their character.

And as far as other country dubbing, well yeah, the order is usually Japanese > English > Anything else. I sometimes turn Russian on for a laugh. So monotone an AI would have done a better job.

If there's english dub in a game, that's what I'll be using. Because gibberish and noises doesn't equate to anything to me. Most games these days the english dubs in major titles are good, however in really corny anime games, I feel it's lot harder to convey all that cheesy crap and not have it sound bad. In the more serious toned games the acting is usually substantially better. As for anime, I won't even get into that one. But it follows a similar pattern, really cheesy ones are meh to average, the serious ones are usually average to above average.

I don't even understand why they bother to make English VA. It never sounds good, except if it's the original audio and not a dub (like in dork souls).
Only good Japanese games with dubs are the Ace Combat series and Dark Souls.

Wouldn't touch anything else, ever.

People tend to prefer the Japanese dubs to the English dubs, because you can't tell if the voice acting is bad if it's in a language you can't understand.
