Light Magic is mostly the best to use if you want to be a melee fighter since most skills for that are Light Magic. As for Dark Magic is mostly best for ranged fighting, Caster spells nearly all are Dark Magic.
Barrage spells are light not dark.
You will go with hybrid anyway, since drain is the best method of getting ichor back or blood sacrifice so you can restore it with your HP, but with thismethod you will run to a bush every 5 minutes.
Still, that's another reason to use Light. It does have good damage output. Not knocking Dark, just saying that Light can also DPS if in a more limited way.
Ice Barrage is considered Light in game. All Barrage Gifts are Light.
Pfft, Ivy veils are ranged for drains, makes caster life much easier to open with one.
You can, or you can use the Sword spells, and do more damage at point blank in a 180 degree arc to clear things off of you at the same time.
Scathach doesn't get enough love.
Casting was fun and all, but mostly single target,. Even if you shot a giant fireball and two enemies were right next to each other, there'd be zero splash damage. Now when I get accosted by a tight group of enemies, I just go "Yeah? ♥♥♥♥ you." and kill 'em all in a single use of the fire blade spell.
Harmonia can be quite powerful to build a midgame Dark Mage pre-finalboss, if you're up for using Bayonet and Normal mobility.
