Any reason to master blood codes?
As title. Any reason to learn all skills from all of them? I'm running a dex build so a lot of skills from atlas etc that require high strength won't carry over for example. Any in game reward/achievement for doing it?

There are some achievements to learn and master gifts. Also, always good to do so if you want to change build in the future.

some achievements for learning 150 of them(not master), only reason you'd master them isto mix and match abilities and blood codes to make a build and have some flexibility on other builds you want to try out

Burning Spirit achievement needs you to inherit 50 gifts.

There is an achievement called "Gift Gatherer" which needs you to learn 150 gifts, not counting the ones you auto-learn with a code.

Best thing to do anyway is to master as much gifts as possible in your first run(Well, if you're at the end, do another one in normal difficulty) since you don't really need an optimized build to finish the game anyway(Except fot the brutal enhanced difficulty on NG+ ^^) and you'll already have them if you want a new build eventually.

You can also use items and haze to master them, you find quite a lot in the game and they're farmable.

Depending on how you want to build your character, certain abilities from other blood codes will benefit you. Like, if you wish to be a tanky, unkillable, damage-soaking counter specialist, there are passives that mix well with the Atlas Blood Code that not only make you gain focus faster, but increase the effectiveness of parries/backstabs/charged swings, have tons more HP, etc.

It's all about customization. The name of the game is "Do whatever the hell you want provided you put in the effort". I've mastered well over 100 gifts and I'm currently an Elemental Duelist wielding a fire sword and an ice sword, my mobility is "quick" so I have more iframes for dodging and my dodge is a glide, and I'm using a claw veil that boosts light gifts through the roof and a passive that boosts ALL of my damage based on mobility (hence the quick). Am I squishy? Yes. Do I truck things? Also yes. Is it gimmicky? It can be. The swords I use have built in elemental attacks on the heavy swings (both regular and charged) and each serves a purpose.

Like I said. Customization is the aim of the game. You can be literally ANY kind of badass you want. I love this compared to other titles in the Souls-Like genre. So much more room to experiment.

I'd say definitely yes, the more codes you master the wider your build variety and preparedness for situations. Though you could technically blow through everything with nothing but a thrall's pipe and no gifts, it's definitely more fun.

I never focus on achievements but when it comes to in game collections like items, lore and abilities I want it all.
