Does Eternal Blade Dance Do Anything?

I'm trying to do a one handed build. My attack is 578 base. I was dodging around an enemy - the dodges were filling up my focus meter so I know they registered as a "dodge an attack". I did 3 of them successfully in a very short time frame. I checked my stats as fast as I could and it still said 578 attack.

Am I missing something? Is it just broken?

Yes, I have the Eternal Blade Dance passive equipped. It is supposed to increase damage when you dodge an attack. But it doesn't seem to do that.

better uses for passive slots are swift destruction if you're on quick mobility, onehanded mastery, and many others depending on your build, as well as strength or dex passives depending on what weapon youre using, if you'd like I can help with builds at all points of the game if you want to add me.

IIRC Eternal Blade Dance only does something if you have Blade Dance active. Not something I've tried myself, though.

Eternal Blade Dance only works while you have Blade Dance active. What it does is it counts a successful dodge as a stack towards Blade Dance.

It probably only works when blade dance is up. That or it isnt shown in the stats

I entirely dismiss my own comment I was hitting dash attacks instead of basics, blade dance is required to be active so may be worth if you're constantly dodging and r1 spamming

It most likely works as a passive gift in relation to proportional maneuverability. It is not displayed in statistics, but on a mannequin or training ground, the difference in damage is visible.
