When Final Journey is literally all over the place
for the past few days, 80% of the summons I had are using Final Journey. Not saying that you can't use it, but sometimes it just destroy the experience of new players since you're just killing the bosses so fast. I personally stop using it unless I'm doing some speedfarm or NG+ enhanced, there are a lot of fun with other Blood Code unique skill as well and I'm just building some weird and janky stuff for co-op.

Most of them are just farming marks of honor and going for the fastest way to get what they want.
well
if they summoned me in front of the boss door, i assume that they probably frustrated enough and want to end it quickly
If you summoned me not in front of the boss door I might just go support build to make sure youre alive

at least that's what i did when i summoned someone into my game (or when my friend summoned me into his game) in front of the boss door, otherwise am doing it solo

:c
I use Final Journey because the connection between you and the host is just horrible that whatever DPS or dodge that failed to register, the damage on Journey will make up for it and the dodge spam will help me re-evaluate much easier.

It really is laggy.

if u want new player experience then dont summon anyone lol
u summon random ppls to help u and yet u r whining about they carry u through ur game ? what kind of ungraceful r u ?

That is the reason I don't play with random matchmaking. I expect most to just roll out with copied meta builds. Just like in MMOs, people focus on what is meta and simply speed run prone dungeons, raids, etc. It is the standard gamer way to play nowadays. Immersive gaming is rare.

I save meta builds for my solo plays personally. Good friend of mine likes to play more with free fun builds, and I'm cool with that too. Well...when I can get him to play that is.

If you want to play more casual style or immersive builds with others of similar mindset, ask about.

Well there should be weapon scaling and Blood Veil scaling as well but there isn't which IMO is a greater concern than the builds people use. And everytime I joined a game the host used it as well or they were farming some low level stuff for Marks which honestly stuff dies so fast with or without it anyway.

Not to be rude in any way but I disagree with this part. Looking at things objectively, ignoring the unique skills all the builds are kinda the same no matter which Blood Code you pick besides the scaling differs a little. In this case Queenslayer with Final Journey really is the best option for any boss killing build. Final Journey is OP even for gunner/mages compared to picking a Blood Code with unique skills or higher scaling. Plus Queenslayer still has good stat spread for equipping basically anything especially for melee+Bridge of Glory it's pretty much the best Blood Code.

As for the other unique skills. They suck or they just are no match for Final Journey and what you can do with Queenslayer.

Like what even is there?
  • Ablative Blood is literally trash compared to just spamming Foulblood Barrier. A complete waste of Ichor. Even playing solo you need to get hit like 6 times for this to be better than Foulbood. Why should you even be getting hit 6 times in like 30seconds anyway not to mention need 28 Ichor for this scenario for the skill to even function. Better off just doing Iron Will+Dammerung heavy attack combo to be tanky for cheaper and longer.

  • Red Shoes is cool on paper but no match for Final Journey. Not hard to manage stamina properly anyway especially when you also get 100% stamina everytime you get Focus gauge full. Or just use an item called ST Activator which is also kinda broken in how much it boosts stamina regen by like 66%, since stamina regen in this game isn't even related to how much max stamina you have.

  • Supernatural Blood basically more expensive than Blood Sacrifice and uses Ichor to even start it.

  • Sacrificial Edge I found it actually worse than Final Journey and it doesn't even apply to everything anyway like Final Journey does. Plus the Quick movement and not having HP constantly drain.

  • Auto Heal? Meh. I honestly rather just carry 2 heals or use a Guardian Aid build.

  • Deliverance I just rather not use it.

  • Guardian Aid, unless you literally plan on running something like a full support selfless healer build and have low damage. The Astrea Blood Code has horrible stats to even try and equip things like Foulblood Barrier for a support character so say goodbye to 3 passive slots to get the required Vitality. Or 2 passive slots to at least equip Cleansing Light so you can actually throw out many heals.

Also I find it better to just DPS things down quickly with a more offensive build than spend longer fighting or getting overwhelmed as well compared something more support focused.

  • Torchbearer. Can't ever imagine a case I would need this.

  • Firm Stand. I rather git even more gud than ever equip this.

  • Blood Grab honestly extremely mediocre even if you try to build around this. Not worth it. And also with how strict the dodge detection can be.

  • Blood-draining Venom sounds cool but is honestly just worse than using Blood Grab. May as well equip another stat passive for the added DPS you would do than the Ichor you gain here if you even poison something and have the poison take full effect. Assuming the poison even works before the thing dies.

If you even want Ichor then just use Weapon Drain Rating Up with a Devour Weapon and have a high Dark gift Blood Veil and pop Bloodsucking Blades.

  • Blade Dance basically needs 1-2 Gift Extensions to compare to Final Journey and be constantly on the offensive non-stop to be worth it. I can't do that with this netcode where enemies know ZA WORLDU. :bloodstain2:

  • Eternal Blade Dance is honestly underwhelming and not worth the passive slot compared to something else more useful that I could equip in it's place instead. A single hit worth from a successful dodge is rubbish. Especially given how strictly the dodges are detected in this game.

  • Evasive Snare is an extremely huge waste of Ichor. May as well equip the buff Countermeasure for the same thing but cheaper. Evasive Snare uses a whole damn Ichor per activation. I rather save that Ichor for offensive gifts or keeping buffs up.

  • Shadow Leap. Maybe if it was 1 Ichor only and if all evasive/offensive skills could contribute to your Focus Gain.

  • Peony Flash seems like crap and takes ages to even do what it does.

And if I need to empty out my entire Blood Codes to even connect to someone then I may as well stick with what works best. Not to mention if someone needs help badly and I really need to kill something before they run out of heals.

Edit: The game is still new-ish. Maybe if we can get some balance patches like in Dark Souls (minus the heavy miracle nerfs) then we can have better options open up.

It's beyond broken, ofcourse you'd see it everywhere. And Queenslayer has pretty decent scaling on everything, slap on some Mind Up and you can also use Bridge of Glory.
Should last 30 seconds for how much it does, not 3 minutes.
Washing Machine Oct 17, 2019 @ 12:58am
Simple fix for it would be for it to actually be what people assume when they first see it, a very short burst before you die that you can use if you're just desperate and out of healing and such at the final chunk of a boss fight. Instead of 3 minutes, which is like forever.
Electro Oct 17, 2019 @ 1:19am
If I had to pick how it should work then I would say make it cost 20 Ichor (which is what Queenslayer starts with) to even cast it and remove any and all healing that can happen while active.

Your HP gets set 1 and you can completely ignore the damage and stagger from 3 hits max (also ignore poison). During this time you can use infinite Ichor, stamina and skills get 50% cooldown reduction. You keep the 50% damage increase for melee and guns. But Gift Light/Dark does not increase since you already have the cooldown reduction and infinite Ichor. (Barrage spam already OP as is)

If you either get hit 4 times or 25 seconds passes then you die. Gift Extension will not effect this.
This is a true do or die moment then where you can try go all out like some sort of berserker.

Balancing is definitely bork with how strong Final Journey vs how weak some of the really fun concepts there are available. Honestly, I can't even begin to try anything without being smack with "Why are you not using FJ!?!?!?!"

Not going to touch the too-strong Gift with a ten-foot pole.

I'm really hoping they will buff up the other Gifts to be near or on par with FJ. Supernatural Blood is super-duper interesting. Sly Vengeance is cool but deals such pathetic damage with a Block build. I've been trying out the hp-to-damage from Heimdall (forgot that Gift's name) and it's been a fun trade.

I like Final Journey but after using it just once I can see how easy it could be to abuse the crap out of it. I'll still keep it on the backburner in case I need it for whatever boss I may be struggling with repeatedly but I currently see it almost as a drug that would be far too easy to get addicted to. Honestly though, I can't blame people for using the tools they are given.

The benefits of final journey is huge. If you want to blame anyone blame on whoever thought it was a good idea to design this skill and allowed its in game.
Ruko Oct 17, 2019 @ 4:44am
There is just no other ability that even comes close to competing with it, the only reason not to use Final Journey is if you're imposing some sort of self-restriction. I find myself avoiding it purely because it feels like cheating.

I think it would still be good, but not overpowered if it were:
- changed to only heal you, maybe restore all your ichor but still kill you in 3 minutes.
- changed to last maybe 20 or 30 seconds, so it's a last-ditch effort and not something you just pop at the beginning of every boss fight and then casually destroy them in half the duration.
