It claims that there are only 26K Owners of DBFZ on PS4
Pretty sure that site is 100% incorrect.
DBFZ on PS4 would never sell so little bit since we have come to know that it has broken world records etc in sale
That site can only record people who synced their trophy list at least once after they play the game. There're people who never went online on the PS4, and people who bought the game but never played it.
CS:GO 400k Player = is this game dead ? Just 400k wtf ? and so on ....
Maybe people should get the head out of they´re as s and just enjoy the games they buyed
Before you post a thread like this follow these steps :
1. research how big the player base was on a long time period(game is still not old)
2. play the game to get an view on your own
3. search statistic for actual games of the same genré
People ask this same question, because it's a multiplayer game and having a small playerbase can potentially ruin the game.
and for your point number 3, I did compare this game to SFV and it's actually very close, while SFV can cross-play with the PS4 playerbase as I said in the OP, so the current number doesn't look good for DBFZ. It decreased from 40k+ to 2k in just 3 months.
40k to 2 k is cause most people who buyed this thought it´s an typical Dragon Ball Z Game(which is stupid enough , cause we have youtube and trailer and so on ).
Now we will get the next dlc and the even more active player . After that we will see the same thread here again. I never had the feeling of "ohh sht nobody plays this game" and i never had to wait rly long for a match and thats what realy matters. 50k people who don´t play ranked , won´t change a thing ;) .
In higher ranks you sure have problems to find "new" or "different" enemys , but more players don´t mean you have more "good" player . It´s the same in each game , you may have 1-5% realy good player on the top and the rest is split into "ok players" and the ground of maybe 20-40%.
And yeah i know that my enlish skills sukcs :P
This game is simple, flat, generally a generic 2d fighter, so its not surprising that people aren't keeping up with it. Especially since the skillcurve follows how much cheese you can put your opponent through without them being able to deal with it, rather than typical footsies or other parts of normal 2d fighting games.
