What end game gun should I aim for? Concerned about premium ammo cost!

I'm level 82 and I'm a few weeks away from being level 100 or close to it. I currently use two premium weapons a supped up Hiks A10 I think it's called. It may even pull it's weight in the end game as I've cored it quite a bit. It's ammo cost is extremely low. So it helps me save money too. But I do plan to drop it for a black gun.

My bossing weapon is a Zerfallen I plan to likely keep using it even at level 100.
So I want my black gun to mostly be a mobbing gun but if it can handle both that's fine too.

Of course I've looked at the Shockfield... Ammo cost seems to be too high for a mobbing weapon for events and such right? The Stripper is another contender but it's pretty expensive too I think. I like the Mixmaster but also looks like it could be too expensive.

I hear a black Sub-light com2 has relatively low premium ammo costs for black guns? And it looks like it's ranked pretty high? It's not the best gun by any means. I already have 4 Augment Cores ready for whatever "final" weapon to go for? I have my assault skill maxed.

I'm not against switching to shotguns etc. But I want to be able to mob pretty well at level 100 with whatever gun I choose. I've looked the DPS/ DPS Reload / DPS Reload Pierce charts and read all of that. Any guns I may be forgetting about? Do you think I would regret rocking a Sub-light Com2 for end game mobbing? I know small clip size and reload are a bit of a problem and I'm worried about that. But I'm already using a Zerfallen I've speced pretty hard into reload as is.

I have several black gun and even some 10 tier black guns but none that seem to dominate the top 10-20 DPS charts. So whatever gun I "choose" I likely don't have it yet. Thank you.

Get a shredder and afk in apocalype and last man standing. Especially last man standing is good for this because everybody is trying to stay alive which means more xp. You'll be level 100 in no time. I did mine in under 2 weeks.

Also it depends on luck a little bit. For example, when I was level 70 (or 80?) on one occasion I met this level 100 and he just wouldn't die. We spend a whole hour collecting samples, got 1 million exp from that. https://steamcommunity.com/id/immessingaround/screenshot/2386432895664543136/

Thanks that's awesome 1 million! You broke any of my records. Yesterday I got to just over 700K. I was level 82. And I think one other person who was level 100. I died three times and he died twice during the match. That was my single most profitable run.

Now as for your advice thank you Blue Bird. Now I actually have a 8* Shredder with three empty augments. On the DPS charts it's far lower than a lot of other Black and even Red weapons. But it does have low ammo costs. If your suggesting it to only reach level 100 I'm fine my current loadout will get me to level 100.

I'm looking for like the best continued weapon to use? Do you use a Shredder for mobbing even at level 100? I feel like there is a better option? Anyone else love that gun too? If anyone else has any suggestions or advice please let me know. Thank you.

what do you mean "end game" for you?

i guess when your guns and armor were full augments, i wanna say that end game. and in endgame, you don't need cash anymore.
if you still need cash, it means you don't reach endgame yet.

you already own zerfallen. its ammo cost is cheap.
your cash will continue to increase like me.

Yeah the shredder is just to get you to level 100. I rushed my account to 100 because the higher your level the higher the chance you get good weapons/armor. I still use my shredder to get high placement for events (I just go for black because diamond is always double the points but not double the rewards).

I got a level 10, 3 star, red shredder with increase damage, fire rate and biosynthesis for healing. By far the best investment I made. Off the top of my head its 6400$ for 300 bullets. But the fire rate is not high even with improvements. One time, while afking, I accidentally bought 500k premium shredder bullets. I cost me around 10mil. I used all my shredder bullets and got back around 40mil.

When you get level 100 (even without the cash skill upgrade) you can play 1 match of survivor and get 490k $.

As for bossing and mobbing, probably still the shockfield (I kinda messed up my own shockfield by using the wrong upgrade on it, I used biosynthesis instead of the suggested adaptive).

Thanks so much advice and this made me curious. By end game i meant level 100. Which of course early level 100 and being level 100 for a long time are different things. Money does needs to be spent upgrading weapons and armour and buying the bonuses like high roller. That said I imagine that yes at level 100 you can get so much money. Once you kind of have your set gear and upgraded it. Not to much to spend money on.

But my questions for you all is can at least two of your confirm that you don't ever really struggle with using even expensive black guns in the end game? Like you said you got back 40 million by the time you fired all your ammo? But I hear others talking about how some weapons are just not sustainable? Are they just not realising what the true end game is really like?

The Sniper rifles look like they are insanely expensive. But I won't likely use one anyhow. I have a 10* Hard Thorn, 10* Jupiter, 10* Shredder, 6* MixMaster.

All seem to have pros and cons. I may end up going with Hard Thorn but not sure. Like Sublight Com might be to heavy and to long reload time? I kind of like Mixmaster but want a level 10 version. Either way my current loadout is working at level 85 now. So likely be closer to level 100 by the time I need to choose. And should have opened more black boxes.

Someone told me if you put some skill points to that one skill that will drop additional premium ammo every time u get a drop. Then you would never run out of ammo. So that's option one.

WIth some guns having ammo that cost 38k I can see how you could go broke real fast. It should still be manageable of you use a cheaper gun for mobbing and a more expensive option for bossing.

sublight com2 is so economical in terms of cash for damage. (still a bit weak for bossing, but if i had a black sublight com2, I honestly wouldn't need anything else). But if you have better guns, do what works for you, there is no right or wrong way.

Sublight com2 (red) upgraded does 3935.2 damage, with premium bullets and mastery for bullets at level 5 it's 3935.2 x 1.5 = 5902.8 per bullet. 400 bullets cost 5120$ which is 12.8$ per bullet.

So I'm paying 12.8$ for 5902.8 damage. (it also comes with 7 piercing which is good for mobbing). I don't know if there is any gun that has a better $ for damage conversion but I haven't found any.

If you level up rifle mastery you get +10 to the ammo clip. With increased fire rate putting you at 10 rps, you're shooting 4 seconds before reloading (clip size 40). Which has been okay for me. If you increase clip size with augmentation you end up with 70 bullets. But I went with increased damage, fire rate and biosynthesis.

That's what I did and it works charms, but not for every weapon. The catch is you don't get a flat amount and instead you get percentage of your clip size - and only for the currently equipped weapon! Since I use Jupiter main (and Stripper for bosses) I am fine with this method but if you use a weapon with small clip, it's hardly worth it.

Ooo that's not as good as I thought it would be. I was under the impression I could use a cheaper gun while saving bullets for a more expensive gun.

I still have a stripper which I haven't ungraded yet. Is there a reason why you chose the stripper over the shockfield. And which upgrades did you go with for the stripper?

Interesting discussion Blue and Puschit. I am almost level 87. I can't wait to get the feel of the end game. I don't expect it to be much different.

But I need to kind of learn how powerful enemies are. I can go into exp events with various base non-upgraded guns. And just see how they perform VS each other. I can write down how much average money I make per nightmare run or event run for different events. And ammo used etc. Make a quick Excel document if needed.

My Premium A10 assault rifle is holding it's own at level 87 but I've cored it to death. Only three last cores I can put in it. lol But I am going to try to wait until level 100 before using any more of my Augment Cores. So maybe my A10 could be the weapon I stick with? If it's decent at level 100 with 7 upgrade cores. Using the last 3 for that 15% bonus might just do it. But I don't want to just be decent at level 100. But it could hold me over to farm more blackboxes, make some money and maybe grind for some Augment Cores.

Even now I match up with level 97-100 chars and sometimes I have more kills by the end of the event etc. But it really depends on who that person is etc.

But the A10 has dirt cheap ammo. The longer I can use it the better. It's around the cost of standard weapons. Like 500 for 400 ammo or something. lol

I am temped to put the last three cores into it. And see if it's end game worth for mobbing. But I am saving my last cores until I am level 100 and figure out which gun I really want. I might go for Black Gigavolt. I don't have a Black Light Subcom2 yet. I wish I did.

I found out the Hard Thorn is not great for mobbing from what I could tell. But I do have a Black Gigavolt *8 and I can core it to *12 with a 4th augment easy. I have exactly 6 Augment cores left. And likely won't get any more until level 100. I think I can afford ammo for Gigavolt but I don't know? Without any skills into Premium Ammo pickups I wonder what the cost limit is to sustain ammo for mobbing? As you two discussed it depends on the gun right? Not only for the ammo cost but for clip size. How many premium ammo skill points do you believe is needed to sustain Black Jupiter for mobbing?

P.S I saw how bad Gigavolt was on the DPS charts. But then realised it does not really factor in the chain damage. But still it may lack a little when dealing with later stages of event mobs. Like wave 40+ etc. I wonder if even normal mobs will start to be a concern. Bosses I am going to use my Zerfallen anyhow.

According to my culculations your A10 is currently doing the same damage as a fully augmented 3 star red shockfield (if all 10 pellets hit the enemy). But with the a10 you're reloading less and you don't have to stand face to face with the target. It's just better. You'll easily mob with the a10 at level 100, you can even boss if you really wanted to.

I would just keep what you got going on right now and complete the cores. It's just good. Maybe complete the other gun first if you are using that one for bossing. Because the a10 is good where it's at.

Thanks that's good to know. I feel it's not the best bossing weapon though. Def worse than Zerfallen and my Zerfallen only has 1/10 cores. The a10 is actually not that good at all at bossing but that's okay. lol But you are correct so far it's still easily mobbing and mobbing well. My plan has been to use it to level 100. Benefit from it's low ammo cost and 50% bonus exp etc.

At level 100 slowly start to figure out if I am going to replacement and if so with what gun? If it can hold it's own at level 100 with 7 out of 10 cores. I will likely just max this gun out and run with it for quite some time even at level 100 and farm cores and black boxes etc. Thanks for the support and general advice.

S300 and CM800 are both my favorite. One for cleaning zombies while another for killing bosses.

But if you want to playing with only 1 gun, 1887 might be the best option for you. It can do both very well.
