deadly oc is a must, cap is nice if youre running field supplies (for infinite ammo), adaptive is extremely useful on any class, so i'd go for those.
Thank you. I appreciate it

you could have gone for critical and reload instead with deadly and overc....

i tried adaptive and i couldn't tell the significant difference of time killing for my red jupiter 10x3
jupiter already has high ammo cap over 90+ to 100, and max ammo hd per loot you get is 100 except if its the hd ammo box itself. whats more, jupiter kills very fast so it uses less ammo than you get from loot which is not ideal/practical. its not for boss killing but mobs/aggro clearing blaster.

Depends on your style of play to some degree. For example, if you are a medic with maxed out biocleanse and great energy regen, you many not necessarily need the adaptive until you get beyond level 70. Personally, I'm a huge fan of ultra high capacity weapons. 500 plus rounds per clip with 1 point in field supplies, and you'll likely never have to pay for ammo again, depending on the rps.

To this end, I seldom put OC on weapons with RPS above 10. An exception was when I put OC on my black 12 x 4* Proposition that was fully cored! But I found that it obliterated mobs faster than I could tap the trigger and let my finger up again, so I ended up having to use even more cores to reset the augmentations and swap out the OC for skeletonized. That thing was so OP it really didn't need OC on it, and was way more fun and functional with deadly, adaptive, capacity, and skeletonized.

With the CM 800 Jupiter in mind, I would put either OC or Pierce, but not both of those together. Reason being that you want to maximize your pierce (especially on THIS particular weapon), and if you fire at 12 rps, you may end up firing faster than new enemies have time to enter the blast radius area, which somewhat nullifies the gains from the OC augmentation.

I tend to view these matters differently than most other players, based on past experience playing this game years ago with friends on Ninja Kiwi. But personally, I would strongly consider pierce and enlarge together for better crowd control. A blast radius of 2 is good, but it is noticeably more fun to have a blast radius of 2.5. It's like the difference between a medium and a large pizza. That extra half meter in all directions really brings more enemies into the path of destruction. And with that larger net, you can take advantage of greater pierce more effectively, too.

If you are a medic with screen-filling biocleanse bombs, you could probably even get away with Deadly, Capacity, Pierce, and Enlarge on the Jupiter. With a clip size of 260+ and only 6 rps, you would be more likely to get your money's worth out of every round, and only have to reload once a minute basically. In most situations and on most maps, that is more than enough to find a safe time and place to perform a long reload. Plus, 2 points in field supplies, and you'd be all set on ammo forever.

Whatever you decide, have fun with it! Stay true to your own style of play, whatever that is.

Your reply wasn't rude in the least. But unless you have personally played with a black 12 x 4* Prop with 10 additional cores boosting its base stats, then you may not be aware of how stupidly overpowered it is, and how it clears the screen on normal MP maps way faster than needed when it is overclocked.

When I played 400 level NM matches, I was not the main firepower; I was just the medic/tank. 99% defense to physical, heat, AND toxic while only dipping 5 skill points into BAE. That left 103 skill points (on Ninja Kiwi PC version) for all the medic specific goodies, plus lots of energy regen, speed, and extra health. I played those 400 level matches exclusively with glass cannon assaults, and sometimes a friend who played with his heavy. I did the majority of tanking and all the healing, reviving, and aura protection; they did the majority of the kills, using killing spree and crits and adrenaline, etc.

Even so, 12 ranks of deadly and 50% more dmg and rate of fire put me over 70K dps, plus a 5.5 pierce without even adding a pierce augmentation to it. I could sustain that sort of havoc for 80 seconds straight (roughly 1600 capacity and a fire rate of 19.5 rounds per second!) without needing to reload. This was more than sufficient for anything I ever encountered, and permitted to me wear hardplate helmet and gloves without any worries about slow reload times.

When I played NM with lower level players, I was there to assist them by keeping them alive and keeping the zombies slowed down and susceptible to their fire. When they asked me to, I could easily step up and slaughter everything on screen for them. (While putting max revive to work, as often as not. LOL) But I prefer to be a true medic. A support player who doesn't hog all the kills in a situation like that just because I can. I was there to make it fun for the others, and my dmg output was sufficient to take aim against anything I encountered without having to even move, except for dark minion savage elite bosses. that I didn't even have to run away only ran to save myself in the rarest of dark minion situations.

I also preferred to not put OC on my fully cored black Jag, much to the surprise of many players I played with. It wasn't meant for bosses. It was meant for regular map play, and it did wonders with 12 ranks of deadly, capacity, enlarged, and adaptive. With masteries and upgraded base stats, it was a beast of a rocket launcher. I went through the ammo so slowly, and had such a huge capacity that not only did I never worry about reloading it, but I also gained over a million rockets for it with just a couple of points in field supplies. At that point, I had put well over 1,000 hours just into playing this character, and figured I would be safe purchasing a skill reset to drop field supplies for something else like more health.

As for the Jupiter, you may well be better acquainted with its mechanics. I remember the day it was introduced. I remember I was not yet level 100, and reading all the buzz about it on the NK forum. Not long after, a friend of mine said he found a really nice one in a nantonium box, but wondered if it was worth upgrading and using, as it was not fully automatic. We both agreed he would just have to try it out. About a week later, he said it was fantastic when it worked, but that he just couldn't bring himself to tap his mouse button repeatedly for his main weapon like that.

I didn't blame him. I had already gotten level 5 pistol mastery, and knew the pain of clicking the trigger for each and every round spent on every map for several days straight to achieve it. I was not a fan of any non-auto guns. The pistols. The striker. The Jupiter. But level 5 pistol mastery granted us full auto, which made the Ronson 45 with its high dmg and 4 pierce a truly beautiful sidearm. I am glad to see that this mobile version used on Steam makes every weapon full auto for us. It cheapens the gameplay a little, but it's really nice not to have to deal with all that individual clicking again.

So I am guilty as charged. Never was much of a fan of the "CM showboat style" sniper. Too much clicking. Too easy to miss the central target. Now that it's full auto, I bet it's really fun. It appears to had some other buffs or tweaks made to it as well, to make it more appealing since I toyed with it all those years ago. And you are right that at lower levels, it's pretty much a must to put OC on everything.

But if your build is one that has zero points in fast reload, no access to the adrenaline boost, and wears hard plate gloves and helmet for defense, then you may not want to put OC on your SMGs or assault rifles if they already pump out 10 plus rounds per second. You'll spend more time reloading and wasting ammo into space than it's worth. And at the highest levels with 14 cores on all your armor and weapons, you really don't need OC to drill a hole right through a lineup of 20 apex bloaters. They're all dead in about 1 second. Maybe 2 seconds if you include all the worms they spawn. Not a big deal for a simple medic tank build like mine.

Too bad flash had to update and mess up the game on the Ninja Kiwi site. Those were fun times.

bio, without a doubt.
bio on a wep like a jupiter will absolutely double your survivability - you won't even need health packs unless it's a really hairy apoc game.
