Edit: just lost an entire end boss NM drop to the walls. Somehow a loader bot died IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MAP and it spawned the loot drop waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay behind a wall back by spawn/start point. LOVE IT.
I tried to play a nightmare mission today. A guy exited as the count down reached 1, so the rest of us lost a ticket and the enemies were so tough we could barely kill a fat zombie. We made it to the end (zombie pods mission), and I literally ran out of ammo trying to kill the Necrosis boss. I started with 10,000 rounds in each of three guns... It was completely stupidly ridiculous. It must have taken HOURS, no exaggeration, to kill the damn thing. It didn't help that the other two players got bored, walked over to a corner and stopped firing. I was on my own. Meanwhile like I mentioned above nightmare mode is the only way to make enough money to do anything, and to get augment cores. I have 240 hours in the game, I have NEVER gotten an elite augment core. Anyone with half a brain can tell that the developers purposely gimped the loot system so more people will purchase loot with real money (boxes, black keys and epic packs) . Those damn purchases cost from 18 to 30 USD! Businessess like Ninja Kiwi are why profiteering is made illegal in communist countries. I am willing to support people who make a fun game, but to have to pay 100$ on in-app purchases just to be competitive in multiplayer is absurd. DLC is okay as long as it doesn't put non-spenders at a disadvantage gameplay wise, and as long as the game isn't rigged so that once people start playing they get forced into either making purchases or giving up the game (as a result of devious calculated difficulty and options manipulation). How do the people in charge keep their jobs? How many people are they really going to sucker into paying $30 of real money for 7.5 million SAS cash; not even enough to fully level up one [black] gun. Seriously we have games like DOTA 2 available to play. In DOTA purchases are fair and transparent and game progression is not rigged to force a purchase ultimatum. Yet at the same time that company makes enough money to host superbowl-size international tournaments with 11 million dollars first prize money. Dear Ninja Kiwi: You want lots of money? DON'T pull a bunch of knit-wit scams on the PC gaming community. Many, if not most of us are adults and highly intelligent, and we hold companies accountable for misconduct (e.g. Capcom and SF5, EA and.. everything)
I think it would help if you other commenters also reached out to Ninja Kiwi. If you do, please keep me posted.
Ask for Sam and reference support request 166188. Tell them about the many, many problems. They will be more prone to take action if they know many customers are concerned.
Ninja Kiwi, the developer of SAS 4 is a devious, profiteering deceitful company that is only out to trick you into making useless in-app purchases. I'm talking about $40 USD for some game money, advertised as "War Powers Funds". It's not even enough money to level up ONE decent gun ([black] gun). If you buy 10 loot boxes (also expensive), you are lucky to get 2 items that you didn't already have. One premium gun costs $40, almost the price of an entire AAA game! Games that typically have hundreds of playable weapons (CSGO).
You may be thinking, "haha I never pay money in free games". Good luck with that in this game. If you try to play with leveled-up players, who have purchased stuff, you will:
a. Die in one hit
b. Have to shoot a standard enemy 500 times too kill it
c. Have to shoot a boss enemy 60,000 times (literally) to kill it
d. Walk so slowly you don't even see what the other players are doing
e. Have to wait 5 minutes to respawn in multiplayer games. It is so bad the game will actually ask you, "Do you want to spectate or just quit?"
f. Never be able to win a multiplayer event e.g. Last Man Standing
I emailed Ninja Kiwi through their website with these, and many other issues with the game. They blew me off. They did nothing to help me personally, or to fix the problems.
Here is the typical player experience for SAS 4 (assuming you don't make purchases):
Learn how the game works -> Learn how the multiplayer works -> Learn how to level up -> Reach level 10 -> Beat all 7 maps -> Grind 50 hours to level up to 15 -> Get access to live online events -> Die instantly -> Grind and farm for another 100 hours to get level 35 -> Get access to nightmare mode -> Wait 20 minutes to start a game because the other players keep quitting the matchmaking screen -> Die instantly -> Grind another 50 hours to get level 50 (surely if I put enough time in, I'll make some progress!) -> Die instantly because you are matched up wth level 100 players -> Face the ultimatum (the developer's plan all along) of giving up the game entirely or making a purchase -> fight tooth and nail to beat a nightmare mission for 30 minutes, only to have your game freeze and shut down seconds away from finishing because the other players got bored and rage quit -> get♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off because you wasted so many hours playing the game and were never able to play the way you wanted to play from the beginning... never able to get any elite augment cores, or black items, or get enough perk points (e.g. energy regen) to make a difference -> spend hours preparing a detailed list of 14 major problems with the game -> email the list to Ninja Kiwi support -> get blown off completely -> write a long, articulate negative review on Steam -> hope other gamers avoid the game, so that some good will come out of your countless hours of anger and frustration.
Short Version: SAS Zombie Assault 4 sucks.
Look my issues stand, but most of this is bs. as a completly f2p player i have had no issue winning event after event, even when placing with higher levels/pw2 players. That isnt to say ive won every single time or something, but i did take 1st place in the daily event like 10 days in a row when i was actually playing this game. In other words...the in game purchases help some...but not much. Are they over priced? hell yes, but id say they are over priced because of how little benifit you actually get from them. 9/10 of the custom guns are worse than or equal to free options. meaning your wasting your money period. Indeed at the end the only time i had trouble finishing something was when the game bugged out/or it was a situation where i was at say lvl 60 and was teamed with 3 100's who all dropped as the game started. yeah i was strong...but not THAT strong. The grind for top gear is fine, it gives you end game. having that grind screwed over again and again by bugs is not ok.
SAS 4 web hasn't received update in 1.5 year. Same with sas 4 mobile.
Dev stopped updating SAS 4 because they "didn't have enough time" and the SAS was not as popualr as BTD.
NK will tell you they will pass it on to the dev team. They probably have. But they are not working on updates right now.
If you read the recent blog post for 2/23/18, you can see NK answers my question in the previous blog : I asked whether anyone in NK is actually working on a Sas 4 steam/mobile update atm. They said no, because they are focused on BTD 6. I really believe there may be updates in the future, as NK finally has begin to show some love for SAS 4 by porting it to steam and answering and talking more about SAS 4 in their blogs.
Conclusion: Don't expect any updates at all until BTD 6 is released. They already said they have all their focus on BTD 6, and BTD Battles atm. The events, and premium guns are set on a rotation I believe. I don't think anyone is even touching SAS 4, expect to configure black box events I believe. For more information on the many SAS 4 problems, visit my review of the game: https://steamcommunity.com/id/pbstormforce/recommended/678800/
If you have any questions about the game, some tips you need, just add me and talk to me. I know quite a lot about SAS 4 flash and mobile/steam. Alternatively, you can join the Facebook SAS zombie assault 4 4.5k member group. It is the one located in Moscow, Russia, that is the main one. I don't recommend you joining the 5,000 member one located in Mexico. Most posts are spanish.
The facebook group has lvl 100's who can help you in Nightmare and events.
One more thing: I highly suggest you visit the Ninja Kiwi blogs on their website, and read ALL of them since SAS 4 was released, which would be early 2014. This will give you an idea of how much the game progressed, how much it was once loved, and its ultimate downfall.
Jekyll: I don't see how all that background information is relevant. Are you saying that it's OK for Ninja Kiwi to continue taking money from customers on a game that is riddled with bugs, for overpriced and useless in-app purchases, because they are focusing on another game?
Or are you saying that we are wasting our efforts trying to get Ninja Kiwi to act responsibly? I disagree, and frankly thinking like that is the basis for many of the world's worst problems.
Is this just some thinly-veiled attempt to promote your social media accounts? If so, this is not the place for that.
All: I just finished playing another Free game titled, "One Troll Army". There are no bugs. There are no ads. There is one in-app purchase available, but it's not thrown in your face every 5 minutes. They offer a costume set for the main character for 2.99 USD. In the description for the item the developer states clearly, "this item does not affect the gameplay." It's a fair price, and I was happy to pay it so that I could support the developer. Which in turn supports the indie/small game community leading to more fun free games.
Expecting the same behavior from Ninja Kiwi is not pointless, not bs and not unreasonable.
