I think as you get higher in the ranks, the points become harder to earn. I've seen post talk about it and it makes a little sense, but it's very annoying.

I only keep playing past 10K for exp farming reasons, since events have no EXP gaining cap

I think it depends on the level of the people youre with and the level difference between you... somewhat like the total level calculation in NM... if youre with lower levels, you wont get alot of points even if you got a ton of samples... my largest one is around 46K samples and I "only" got 2.7K points. Yet when I was with high level ones, I got 1K points for around 10K-14K

I learned the hard way that you should NEVER play "free" games on Steam. The purchases in this type of game are made in-app, and the money goes directly to the developer. The money never goes through Steam as a company. So if there is a problem, Steam will not do anything to help you. You can never get your money back and nothing will be done to make sure other people don't have the same issue. Steam purchase = safe. In-app purchase = not safe.

Ninja Kiwi, the developer of SAS 4 is a devious, profiteering deceitful company that is only out to trick you into making useless in-app purchases. I'm talking about $40 USD for some game money, advertised as "War Powers Funds". It's not even enough money to level up ONE decent gun ([black] gun). If you buy 10 loot boxes (also expensive), you are lucky to get 2 items that you didn't already have. One premium gun costs $40, almost the price of an entire AAA game! Games that typically have hundreds of playable weapons (CSGO).

You may be thinking, "haha I never pay money in free games". Good luck with that in this game. If you try to play with leveled-up players, who have purchased stuff, you will:
a. Die in one hit
b. Have to shoot a standard enemy 500 times too kill it
c. Have to shoot a boss enemy 60,000 times (literally) to kill it
d. Walk so slowly you don't even see what the other players are doing
e. Have to wait 5 minutes to respawn in multiplayer games. It is so bad the game will actually ask you, "Do you want to spectate or just quit?"
f. Never be able to win a multiplayer event e.g. Last Man Standing

I emailed Ninja Kiwi through their website with these, and many other issues with the game. They blew me off. They did nothing to help me personally, or to fix the problems.

Here is the typical player experience for SAS 4 (assuming you don't make purchases):

Learn how the game works -> Learn how the multiplayer works -> Learn how to level up -> Reach level 10 -> Beat all 7 maps -> Grind 50 hours to level up to 15 -> Get access to live online events -> Die instantly -> Grind and farm for another 100 hours to get level 35 -> Get access to nightmare mode -> Wait 20 minutes to start a game because the other players keep quitting the matchmaking screen -> Die instantly -> Grind another 50 hours to get level 50 (surely if I put enough time in, I'll make some progress!) -> Die instantly because you are matched up wth level 100 players -> Face the ultimatum (the developer's plan all along) of giving up the game entirely or making a purchase -> fight tooth and nail to beat a nightmare mission for 30 minutes, only to have your game freeze and shut down seconds away from finishing because the other players got bored and rage quit -> get♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥off because you wasted so many hours playing the game and were never able to play the way you wanted to play from the beginning... never able to get any elite augment cores, or black items, or get enough perk points (e.g. energy regen) to make a difference -> spend hours preparing a detailed list of 14 major problems with the game -> email the list to Ninja Kiwi support -> get blown off completely -> write a long, articulate negative review on Steam -> hope other gamers avoid the game, so that some good will come out of your countless hours of anger and frustration.

Short Version: SAS Zombie Assault 4 sucks.

Austria Gamer, i havent paid a Dollar in this game, i win events a lot and i can do nightmare good and i can compete... seems to me you are either casual noob or not know how to play smart or maybe not know what gear and skills to use cause what you're describing does not allign with my experience, i fare well with lvl 100 you just gotta know how to dodge zombies and how to shoot... you sure you got a Jupiter and a Stripper combo at least?... you seem to have vested a lot of time i've put 122 hours in this game and i'm lvl 60 what about you?
TheMace Feb 18, 2018 @ 8:05pm
Takes me 7-12 minutes per nightmare mission and we usually dont die, its teamwork and just skill i guess... but then again i rarely lose LMS or any even if i play to win, maybe im just good... we should play sometime and let me see your character i'll tell you what to do... :) you must lack a good skill point build and good items and weapons for your class and maybe a strategy how to fight lol

Virus samples isnt just about how many samples you get, it also depends on what rank you are in the end. Having 5k samples in first gives you as much as around 15-20k samples but coming in last. Try playing with a full lobby and get first because if you play with only one other player, coming in first = coming in third because there are only 2 people. Think of it like LMS, 4 plyr game = 1st gets 5 pts. 3 plyr game = 1st gets 3 pts. Same goes with V samples. So make sure to collect a lot of samples, collect the most and play in a lobby of 4 in order to maximize your event points gained. GL

this has no relevance to what this discussion is about, as the discussion is about virus samples and how badly worked out the point system is
bug Aug 19, 2018 @ 10:07am
exponential rampup of how many samples are needed for points, as well as points being more difficult to earn based on your standing in the event

6k to 28k and only getting 80-ish points out of it is reasonable, if you do 15k+ games each time you're basically guaranteed diamond
