Are there bots or not?

I have been loving this game a lot recently but I feel like i'm having a schizophrenia meltdown every match.

Half of the enemy players I encounter are bot-level threats, complete pushovers.
The nametags of these players range from basic to semi-complicated and some seem to have weirdly normal avatars.

All the red flags for bots are up and yet there's no indication of bots anywhere in the casual queue screen or anywhere else.

How scummy would the devs have to be to have a queue for their servers and then fill them with bots?

if anyone has an answer to this I need to know, I don't want to come off as a ♥♥♥♥ but 3/4 of my matches are silence on comms and when I ask literally anyone to verify in chat that they're real only 1-2 people do, and they're the only top scoring players on their teams.

1. If there isn't enough players to start a match, a bot will take the player slot to allow the match to start.
2. if someone quits out, a bot will replace them until the game ends or someone else joins the match in progress for the bot to be replaced by the player.
3. New players can use bots for practice.
4. you and your pals can play against bots to practice or pvp against them or against each other.

If the game has been gaining so many players to the point that the servers go down, wouldn't filling those servers with bots afterwards be counterproductive? It only servers to stop real players from getting into the game, which forces bots to replace those players, etc.
Keep the bots in custom matches only, replacing real players in casual matches is scummy and servers no purpose besides making games one-sided and boring.

Just wait a few more seconds? This game has been getting so much traffic that this only servers to keep players out.

What the hell do you mean? Bots in live multiplayer matches with no pre-warning or text is very bad for the multiplayer experience.
They make games one-sided and fool new players into a sense of being better than others. This is only worsened by the fact that the game is still suffering from server issues, meaning they're aware of bad servers while stuffing them with bots!

Stop licking their boots for a second and realize filling matches with bots is bad for multiplayer experiences.
No communication with teammates that are bots.
No Teamplay.
No real challenge.

yeah, just got a 4 v 2 with 2 bots to fill in, no chance, insta defeat.
maybe it was necessary when the game was not famous at all, but now? nope, let them only in practice modes

Yup. But these bootlicking braindead ass-kissers don't care. Either they are getting paid by the company to shill, or they are morons. PUBG mobile and Fortnite popularizing bots has been a scourge on the industry. Bots are pretty much in every match, no matter how long you play. I'm not surprised to hear about bots being in this game. I'm new and only played 3 or so matches and I've been steamrolling the other team which is very unusual since I'm typically garbage at competitive shooters.

Let me actually play against real players ffs.
