Just toxicity of "be good" rather than "be balanced". The closest we got to reasoning has been "that's how shotguns normally are". . . which isn't reasoning based on balance. That's just letting a stigma dictate how things are. Nor does it even touch on why the sniper needs to be a 2 shot.
I'm still waiting for someone to explain that need that everyone else seems so arbitrarily obsessed with.
Additionally, I believe practicing getting head shots with the sniper rifle against a much more aggressive team that is pushing constantly with a gun that can *almost* always one shot is quite helpful when you get to ranked.
Because if they were 1 shot then there would be literally no reason to ever use the shotgun..? Your argument is "no one uses sniper", and then your solution to that would mean no one would ever use shotgun.
The sniper is still good, it has significantly more range than the shotgun, and even in close quarters 1 shot + 1 melee is a kill, so it's not like you can never beat the shotgun player
It also has the potential to 1 shot, from any distance, you just have to hit the headshot
Inaccurate. The point of a shotgun would be that it would have a cone of damage, rather than a single ray thus making it easier to hit a moving target up close. That's the whole point of a shotgun in any game. . . it's that it has spread so it's easier to hit. :/
That being said. Thank you, thank you SO MUCH for being the first person on here to actually make a case using reasoning. I have much respect for you sir. <3
I would also like to point out range doesn't really matter when over 50% of the maps don't even offer the opportunity for "range" combat. If the map design/selection was narrowed down to more open maps and excluded alot of the tight corner maps, this would be different and I would agree with you alot more. Or if it was a 3v3 mode instead of a 4v4. It isn't exactly ranged combat if there is always an enemy 3 feet from you at any point and time.
I never said the sniper wasn't good though, I just said in this specific scenario/game-mode, it's kinda pointless for most maps.
Idk, you still have to hit a decent amount of the shotgun shots to actually kill in 1 shot don't you? (I would go test it before making this comment, but servers are down.. don't remember how much each hit does.. 30 maybe? 40?)
I would definitely just use the sniper over the shotgun if it was a guaranteed 1 shot kill, but maybe that's just me
A shoulder shot at like 15 character lengths away is still a 1-hit. . . so you tell me.
Shotguns should be the choice for the lesser capable players. . . as they usually tend to be.
I'll be honest, I probably just want bigger maps for that mode to give it a place for ranged fights where ranged fights can actually happen because every time you see an enemy, they are pretty much in shotgun range anyways. That's the whole reason this post started, because me and many others who are in the CASUAL QUES (so shut up sweats about these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frame-perfect flick-shot headshots on a guy in your face in CASUAL) want to actually use snipers but can never find a scenario where it wouldn't have been better just to pull out the shotgun 24/7 as it takes less skill and is always more viable. Like, if we could out range them, then that'd be fine. xD
