Splitgate 2 sucks ass
Splitgate 2 has some good things like the loadout system, but who asked for the Champions?
Splitgate 2 took out what was fun with Splitgate 1, and then added unnecessary things that just made the game hard to play, I feel Splitgate 2 will be the end of Splitgate indefinitely

yes, less is more! People embraced Splitgate due to the simplicity of the gunplay & portals, that's it.

Lots of people would’ve returned for a new Splitgate season, but 1047 chose to make a new game instead... Was it just because there weren’t 60-100k players constantly? I don’t get why a second game was necessary. They are catering to short-attention-span zoomers who’ll quit after a week anyway. Good luck.

I don't understand. This game isnt even that old. People spent money on cosmetics and other crap only for the game to fold for a sequel?
I was thinking of reinstalling the game today before checking what was up with Splitgate 2 being announced and I won't be returning lol.

FACTION, CLASSES, HEROS, CHAMPIONS, LOADOUTS, all the same meaning, all garbage. Hero mechanics that lock Weapons, Abilities, and Passives to a character? This is an arena shooter not a MOBA. Weapons should be pickups around the map not locked behind a Hero system. Abilities should be scrapped and/or replaced as equipment for everyone. Passives should be scrapped and/or have the same added to everyone. Arena shooters are about skill in gunplay and movement. Locking Weapons, Abilities, and Passives is unbalanced and does not promote teamwork.

they made a new game because sg1 was made primarily from a very small dev team and had issues with adding new content, they realized they had something from sg1 and wanted to actually develop the game properly instead of just adding more things to a game with a engine they didn't like and fundamentals they didnt like, they wanted a actual triple A arena shooter,

this ignores the 50 thousand players who left after a month due to a lack of content, "simplicity" = nothing to do after like 2 months for the vast majority of players, theres 5k concurrent players and on launch it was 60K theres obvious reasons to do this from a company perspective, you are not the target demographic, and you shouldnt be

It's the TikTok brain generation. We had endless fun playing arena shooters growing up. I'd still play Splitgate 1 today if I knew it had a larger playerbase, no bots, and they continued the battlepass. This game was also never well-advertised.

kind of, i dont think we can blame the game on "tiktok" brain entirely, i think its live service game mentality moreso, the industry has pushed this for awhile now and theres reasons why, i think people played the game for a bit, then whatever game they usually play updated and sg1s playerbase got evaporated
