Edit: Thank you so much for giving me an award! It's my first time and thank you very much!
This, the devs basically put the game into hospice care when they announced they were stopping support of the game (Mind you this came right after the game "re-released" beta) which was kind of a FU move by the devs to the new players they picked up.
I wish they had a way to have this be able to be played offline just with bots or LAN or p2p so we can still have fun with friends. (Is it? it's been a while, i have no idea)
But I'm definitely hoping that the successor to this has dedicated server tools (So someone can host their own server with custom maps and game modes, or simply to play the game through LAN or when the game servers shut down) and proper map editor tools (rather than a glorified Forge World)
This game plays like a run and gun arena shooter. Beats the flow of COD games where most people just sprint into a conflict and die because the base player movement is slow as molasses.
You start off basically unbeatable in some sort of god mode if you are average with moderate experience of FPS games where you get 20+ kills a match, then somewhere down the line the game decides to place you in matches you have no reason to ever be in and you die 20+ times in a match.
If there is any SBMM in this game it's absolutely atrocious and probably the worst I've ever seen, or maybe it just puts every new player in a new player pool regardless of skill so the average players with fps experience stomp the new players with ease and at a certain point it groups everyone together past a certain rank and then even the average start suffering the same way all those new players did.
New players probably leave immediately, experienced average players leave when the game is mistreating them, leaving only the small amount of god tier players playing each other for all eternity.
It's a recipe for a dead game. Seriously... It's not hard to do matchmaking correctly, there is a reason Halo 3 lasted until the plug was literally pulled. Good Matchmaking system that didn't place people in impossible matches (Unless someone was smurfing)
